Same here. Did it for the last minor event too.

Most disruptive weather event I've experienced, and we only were dark for 4 days. 2nd place was another ice storm on the hills west/north from NYC, precisely 45 years prior to #1. Ice on Jan 8-9, 1953 wasn't quite as thick as '98 but almost every tree took damage in our NNJ area. Some trees on the taller hills became "asparagus" stems, bare poles with all branches lying at the stump. We lost power for 6 days from that one. The good effect was to trigger my lifelong interest in both weather and trees.

December 14th - Snow showers or Plowable snow?

18z AI-GFS (I have no idea if this is worth anything) is also ticking better than 12z -
Very upper ES, N DE into interior SNJ maybe. Marginal tho. Would probably just go to a warning

This one isn’t meant for us in Loudoun. Rooting for y’all in the 95 corridor.

12/14: Sunday funday? Will the south win again?
NorthArlington101 replied to TSSN+'s topic in Mid Atlantic
If this happens it’s high rates and crashing temperatures in the middle of the night. It’s not my concern maybe outside of right in the middle of Downtown DC (where I’m at lol) -
This is a long shot for D.C................ But I wish everyone all the best of their wishes.

If there's any takeaway from 18z suite, it's that this is not continuing to slip away into nothing (which was a distinct possibility on yesterday's guidance). It will be meager, but there will be accumulation. -

The thing with this event is it’s really quick hitting, a few hours of snow. We’re gonna need it to not be 35 degrees at the onset because by the time it cools it’ll be over. -
Based off the 12z Euro and 18z GFS, it would not surprise me to see Mt. Holly hoist a watch for their zones on Maryland's eastern shore into Delaware and S. Jersey.

looks closer to euro now, maybe a hair worse. wish we could buy another tick or two with that stuff just off shore -
Gfs is nice man. I think the spot to be for this one is Wilmington to south Jersey.

Winter Wizard replied to TSSN+'s topic in Mid Atlantic
For reference my hometown of Wilmington, DE hasn’t seen a 6” snowfall since March 2018 while I’m pretty sure almost everyone else on this forum and northward has. Unfathomably bad luck. -
I'll take my 1-2" and call it a day from the 18z GFS

GFS a teeny bit more NE but really just noise. Still fine around DC. Best stuff definitely NE MD plummeled
