  1. Past hour
  2. There really is truth to the "wherever I am, there too shall the cold be" phrase I drop from time to time. When I was out in Arizona taking care of my mom, that was one of the colder and stormier winters out there, while you guys were warm and snowless. Now, they're setting records a couple times a week, and we're cold here. Any potential warm up, gets muted or disappears entirely (12/26). Seriously folks, if my stubborn wife would have gone out with me, I wouldn't have come back. She didn't, so here I am, and the resentment grows with each new cold press. Maybe I'm sick and need help, or maybe I just can't tolerate cold anymore, but I am just flat out miserable right now. For obvious reasons, I don't show it in my videos, though. And I hide it from family and friends just to keep peace, but it just eats me up.
  3. That’s not unreasonable considering the set up for this.
  4. That’s bullshit Scott. I don’t really care if this shits the bed. It wont bother me one bit. Wow, so I don’t get my inch or two. I used to get angry like you, I don’t anymore.
  5. And as I have been saying. Top snows for TN is in February. With the cold air source in Canada. If we were to get one of the ole blue northern clippers. The ratios of that snow with them would be plentiful.
  6. At some point during the day today Alexa alerted me that we’d been put under a Winter Weather Advisory, and it looks like the BTV NWS advisories start up at 7:00 A.M. tomorrow morning and cover a good chunk of the state outside the Champlain Valley. The most recent Event Total Snow Accumulation map shows totals in the 8-12” shading for the higher elevations of the spine around here. Down in the valley our point forecast suggests something in the 5-10” range through tomorrow evening, and the map has us in that next tier of 6-8” shading, so those projections seem to correlate fairly well.
  7. Being negative for this one for us is realistic, this has looked like a Maine storm for a while now. I’m more excited about the period after Christmas, not expecting much of anything with this one.
  8. Subsurface decay is way ahead of last year. Doesn't mean we go to El Nino. But the warmth below the western tropical Pacific is advancing east and toward the surface pretty steadily.
  9. HRRR dangling a dong over you. That 0.50” over Cape Ann would be fun.
  10. We had a cold period, then a warm period, and now it looks like it will be stormy/variable. So far It’s progressing like a normal New England late fall/early winter period. Social media likes to exaggerate and sensationalize, it’s really just normal seasonal progression. What’s wrong with saying the weather has been normal and unremarkable?
  11. I see Isotherm is browsing tonight...feel free to chime in from time to time bro!
  12. I don’t think the models are capable of showing anything sustained anymore…they are so sensitive. so jumpy, and maybe just ruined(?)-I think those days are gone. Although, Maybe AI can bring back some of that?
  13. Weak little wave put down 2.25” of Currier and Ives this evening. Nice unexpected little moose fart refresh. 18F
  14. Yeah nice 2.25” of fluff stacked nicely on all the trees and even power lines. Looked festive driving home from Waterbury. It wants to snow this year.
  15. The upcoming pattern looks favorable for New England. This is different than the early December period, climo is no longer hostile now that it is late December.
  16. Like Tip talks about all the time—it’s not just about the result. The model cinema matters too for many. (No shot at anyone, we all want to see blue bombs)
  17. Here is a link to current coldest temperatures on the planet. I tried to copy and paste the top 15, but it didn't work....so go to the link and peruse for yourselves. Canada does have some of the top 15 low temps on earth for the date. We should also remember that its only December 22nd. The really bottom level stuff in the Northern Hemisphere doesn't occur until late January and February up top. This is pretty rare for Canada to have lows this cold, this early......the link: https://eldoradoweather.com/climate/world-extremes2/world-temp-rainfall-extremes.php
  18. Is that favorable thing in the room with us? Because I can totally envision a scenario where we get porked tomorrow and then whiffed Friday
