  1. Past hour
  2. Actually, just hoping that N Maine stays cold, good chance we can take a Xmas break sledding trip if that happens this year.
  3. Think i saw 3 flakes at work in Greenbelt. (Insert Obligatory Greenbelt joke)
  4. Winds notable overnight and some flurries in Fallston this AM .
  5. I’ve been feeling this one coming . Just an old school recognition of setup
  6. All snow here, mostly tiny flakes - 2.5" from 0.26" LE. Broom snow, except for the plow pile I needed to shovel so the letter carrier can access our mailbox. (The pile is on the maintained road but the smaller truck with only one drive axle can't back up the slope. Wish they would run the 2-axle driver.) 8" at the stake.
  7. I think anyone expecting a Christmas "torch" will be unhappy. While it will of course get warmer - heck this is one of the coldest first half's of December since the 1890s. I don't see this like the 1989 pattern. I suspect Christmas week while a lot warmer than now...will be not too far above normal readings for Christmas IMHO.
  8. The NAM is an outlier right now in the upper levels. It shows a trof structure further west and less positively tilted than everything else. But it also trended better than 6z. It would be very encouraging to see big moves towards this today. The 12z NAM would also feel a lot snowier than what most think of when they see 3-6". That's weekend, daytime snow with cold 925mb temps, near freezing surface, and probable banding. It's a great and unlikely outcome.
  9. Gonna need the NAM to dig more than that.
  10. Definitely a fun few hours through the corridor. Its got that skinny stripe of snow the basically develops over us.
  11. I'm getting daily snows to keep things fresh, I got 12cm/4.5" yesterday and this morning more SN+ from LES although the heavier bands are to my SW. The % of hours this Dec with snow flying in the air has been high. Snowpack at 50cm/20". Even with the wind and dry snow its sticking to trees and most surfaces! This is shaping up to be one of my favorite Decembers, only missing a synoptic snow storm which doesn't seem to happen anymore in the first half of Decs (been forever).
  12. I'd say 1/3 of the GEFS members keep us below freezing on Christmas ..
  13. As usual..we can’t seem to win. Sometimes we want the PV to get involved, now it does and it’s hurting us…the 80’s are certainly back.
  14. Started out as snow, It was 30°F but it was spotty for a bit then we had a good burst and the temp dropped to 28°F and remained there, It flipped to freezing rain around 4pm but it was light thereafter with some glaze.
