  1. Past hour
  2. Low-mid 40's here. 20's-30's for lows this morning. Seasonably cool. Rain coming in later tonight into tomorrow will be welcome.
  3. Alot of bump material. Same people forecasted a warm winter last year.
  4. Yeah that’s why in the most classic super Nino setups, the warmest anomalies occur the further north you go. 45-50 is below normal in Birmingham, but a major torch for INL.
  5. What will it be. Bring the popcorn and lets see where the chips fall
  6. Peak colors in metro Detroit. Went walking at a nice park yesterday.
  7. Hmm that’s a change from previous runs. Hopefully it’s the start of a trend. It looks like it’s all dependent on how much phasing occurs between the two streams. If we get a full phase we get a big cold air wraparound with snow. If the phase is weak or doesn’t happen, it’s another upslope snow event with just a little bit of rain in Denver.
  8. one more round of golf would be nice before we turn the clocks
  9. Often a Thanksgiving cold shot works out when the first half of November is warm. So hopefully that is the case this year as well.
  10. Any warm winter month has snow/snowstorm chances here, so its always a wait and see even in the worst months. But Christmas 1982 lives in infamy here, it was 64F at DTW. My mom remembers being super hot at midnight mass (pregnant with me).
  11. Welcome to the Yellow Medicine County, MN (Population 9,477) thread, forkyfork!
  12. Again, your only problem with the NCEI's dataset is in its output, and not in the methodology. If the methodology was unsound, you would be presenting its flaws, but you only take issue with the output because it runs antithetical to your viewpoints. If NCEI chilled current temperatures, you'd be in favor of using it no matter the underlying techniques used to reach their output.
  13. Today
  14. Will lead to a very warm CONUS November. Then PV intensifies into December. Maybe we get something that will actually have impacts after mid winter?
  15. Don - you are in the all time weather forum hall of fame in my book! Have and continue to enjoy all of your posts and data you present - thanks again!!
  16. and I will continue to show the NCEI common tool of chilling the past and warming the present by highlighting the variance from raw to NCEI across not just Yellow Medicine County but the rest of the USA
