  1. Past hour
  2. I’ve been getting the first thunderstorm since Sunday (8/27) since ~6:45PM in a band coming eastward that had collided with the sea-breeze front. Rain rates have been mainly moderate but with some heavy.
  3. About time to get the garden thread active, I guess. Been getting some figs. Varmints have bothered less than previous years.
  4. oh i see gotcha and yeah fair i still think the food is good though even if it is something affordable but what you described seems pretty delicious
  5. Are we taking the over or under for 90 degrees at central park at some point in September. Climo says its roughly 50/50 but I'd think it'd be harder to achieve outside the first week of the month. That's usually when temps really start dropping.
  6. We are approaching high tide at Dewey Beach and despite the storm moving away, the waves to me are the worst they've been to this point. Huge breakers rolling in and have reached the dune and walkways.
  7. I have a cousin out there. She has indicated that the City has a lot to offer, including culture, history, and nature. However, she has increasingly complained about the rising heat.
  8. It’s difficult for many of us who are cold and snow enthusiasts to understand why so many people choose to move to a place like Phoenix with such intense heat. I would enjoy visiting that region during some of the cooler times of the year since the Desert Southwest is one of the most beautiful parts of the country. You wonder how much more heat and drought it would take to actually slow the influx of new people into the area. In the mean time I hope they do all they can to try and expand the trees and shade.
  9. Just an incredible stretch of weather for the next 7-10+ days . I ain’t mad about it.
  10. Cracker Barrel is decent, but yeah it's a glorified gift shop with food. "Affordable" lol Some of the food is undoubtably trash, but if you get the roasted chicken or slow-cooked beef with carrots and potatoes COC (corn-on-cob) it's a can't miss.
  11. oof, looks like crap. Also too dry/cool for severe
  12. Got a direct hit from these slowly moving N to S storms, about 2/3's inch in about 20 minutes, still raining.
  13. it's just a relative comparison to other seasons. I can agree with your statement because the 1990s saw the most extreme heat and longest heatwaves here. By the way, when did you move to Colorado? Did you move there to see more snow?
  14. You guys are all a bunch of snowflakes.
  15. September is mostly within the borders of summer so I think it should be considered, our seasons mostly follow the astronomical calendar, so it's approximately June 20 - September 20 1953 and 1983 should both be several spots higher. I generally agree with 2010 and 1966 being at the top though.
  16. Got all the way down to 54 here this morning. Surprised me it got that cool. Felt great.
  17. i usually like to go to cracker barrell and yeah you do in fact have to walk around the gift shop when waiting on your table but the food does taste pretty good and agreed baroclinic zone
