Seems like still probably a pretty high threat for tornadoes in southern Wisconsin and possibly northern Illinois before the system becomes more of a squall line tomorrow night.

-
as of now if you target S. WI seems like platteville -> msn -> west bend is where I’d set up shop. probably platteville and watch development from there.

It is. Best week for tstms in April I can recall in SNE w/ more on the way.

Hit my first 90 of the calendar year just after 2pm today IMBY. The last time the temp was at or above 90 was back on August 17 with a 92. My current weather station (bought in the summer of 2020), has the highest April temps at 87 (2021), 85 (2022), 86 (2023), 88 (2024), & 81 (2025). My old weather station goes back to 2015 with 79 (2015), 81 (2016), 84 (2017), 82 (2018), 80 (2019), 73 (2020). All I know is that there tends to be some week in April, for the most part, where we get into the 80s (and even upper 80s) for a brief time (usually a couple days), and then it goes back to normal (or below). For anyone living in an apartment complex with cooling-tower supplied AC, you are usually SOL (because those buildings don't usually switch over from heat to AC until around May 15)! Currently partly cloudy and 86 with dp 64. -
Conversely, from mid June to mid August 2008 (I think that was the year), we could not get clean CFROPA at all in the NEUS, and the tstm action was pretty sweet!

How can NG "predict" weather trends months in advance? -
Everything was to my south per normal, but it’s lawn season and I needed the rain to wash in the fertilizer. I’d rather have a half inch of rain than 70 mph winds and a few drops to show, this time of year.

Man I thought today felt worse than yesterday on the no ac scale lol I refuse to turn it on until Mid May at the absolute earliest. June is preferable. -

Some kind of mesolow. No wonder it sustained itself so well overnight. Any rotation, miso/meso/synoptic, is a *good* thing for convection! Did Scott "WE THUNDER" in Weymouth? He told me in PM that he is all excited for tstms this summer b/c of impending super El Nino. I told him, "well, 1997 and 1998 svr wx seasons in NEUS were quite good, spinners and more!"

For comparison it's 47 degrees in Boston with fog and an east wind

Temperatures approached and reached record levels across parts of the region yet again today. Central Park registered a high of 89°. Newark reached 90°. Daily records were set at Atlantic City (91°), Baltimore (91°), Norfolk (92°), and Philadelphia (91°). Readings will return to the upper 70s to around 80° tomorrow, upper 60s on Saturday and upper 50s to lower 60s on Sunday. A sharp cold shot is possible early next week. Generally dry conditions will also persist through at least Saturday. Some showers or thundershowers are possible Sunday afternoon into Sunday night. The ENSO Region 1+2 anomaly was +1.5°C and the Region 3.4 anomaly was +0.2°C for the week centered around April 8. For the past six weeks, the ENSO Region 1+2 anomaly has averaged +1.30°C and the ENSO Region 3.4 anomaly has averaged +0.07°C. Neutral ENSO conditions will continue through at least mid-spring. The SOI was +1.51 yesterday. The preliminary Arctic Oscillation (AO) was -0.115 today. Based on sensitivity analysis applied to the latest guidance, there is an implied near 85% probability that New York City will have a warmer than normal April (1991-2020 normal). April will likely finish with a mean temperature near 56.1° (2.4° above normal). Supplemental Information: The projected mean would be 3.1° above the 1981-2010 normal monthly value.

Surprised there hasn't been a crazy Ambrose Jet day yet. JFK up to 20mph when many times it would be over 40.
