  1. Past hour
  2. It's Rhule's job to lose: 1) State College native 2) Penn State player/alum, last remaining branch of the Joe Paterno coaching tree 3) Was with Patrick Kraft at Temple Rhule is a bad hire. You can say what you want about Waco, Texas and Lincoln, Nebraska, but his record against ranked teams is piss poor. He's basically hwite Franklin. Somebody bring me Jon Gruden.
  3. Who are you thinking for his replacement? Rhule? Joe Brady? Cignetti?
  4. Ya, just responding to the guy who said they didn’t update the AFD…so who knows.
  5. Steady light to moderate since about noon. More breast than windy.
  6. To date, among the emerging cases that could provide insight into Winter 2025-2026 temperatures is 2021 (ENSO, RONI, QBO, IOD, and PDO). Consistent with the lack of statistical relationship between ACE and winter temperatures/snowfall, ACE isn't considered. Solar flux is also a mismatch (suggesting perhaps a milder version of 2021-2022), but for now this is an emerging case. The evolution of the North Pacific SSTAs and continuing evolution of ENSO will be important factors. Here's the fall 2025 outlook using 2021: Fall 2025 (through October 10): Winter 2025-2026 using 2021-2022: ECMWF DJF Forecast:
  7. No rain to speak of here. 56f humidity 95% dewpoint 55f Wind NE gusting to near 40 mph.
  8. Who knows how his station is mounted.

  10. Yep. I've been telling folks here how behind we are getting on the first frost.
  11. Yeah sad to see the changes. Descriptive and knowledgeable AFDs are the best part of the NWS (or were).
  12. What? They issue AFDs like 4 times a day or used to? You hear from the NWS when it’s partly cloudy or when it’s a big deal. That is/was the value of it. I read the man updates almost daily and I bet many on here do too.
