  2. This storm is now up as the 12th 3"+ event of the season with snowfall maps, radar, sfc/upper air maps https://www.jdjweatherconsulting.com/feb-25-2026 We only did a CT map for this but 1-3" worked out nearly perfectly with just a few reports slightly over and a couple slightly under in far SE New London County. The ranges are changed to factor in the entire region. Grade A-
  3. My sense is there’s kind of like a contest in some people There is none It was always going to warm up and then likely cool back down We’ll see what that entails on both ends of that, but there is no contest
  4. Ninas are pretty much death to your area in winter, which is in the downslope area of the higher terrain the to west. Ninos should be better with big coastal storms that aren't late developing/offshore. Maybe this coming winter will be more fruitful. In summer that same effect causes it to be generally dry (with prevailing westerly winds) relative to surrounding areas. A veritable desert. Frustrating for a weather enthusiast unless dryness is preferred.
  5. Dang. Just a trace of rain here. Nothing measurable since sometime in late January.
  6. Euro Skynet with lots of snow mid-month.
  7. Pick em up instantly. Too small to be out by themselves and no electric fence
  8. The winter weather advisory for the area is seriously severely worded…lol. Says “tree damage and power outages are Likely.” And “travel could be nearly impossible.” I gotta say, I’ve never seen an advisory worded that severely before. Hyperbole?
  9. Hi my fellow weenies, hope you guys getting some snow today. I have a question, my friends and I are going to Boston from next Wednesday until Saturday. We're looking to explore the city a little bit and maybe hit up the encore casino as well. Since you guys would probably know... We're trying to book a hotel that's close to the city itself where we could go out to maybe a couple of bars and maybe even a club, definitely a couple of good restaurants... We're also planning on going to encore casino for one night maybe a few hours. My question is do you guys have any recommendations for hotels, neighborhoods, restaurants, bars... we're all in married with kids except one of us. he's a single dude. we need something close to the casino as well if we decide to go gamble after the club or whatever. thanks in advance
  10. Yea. It was a legit season. Lets hope we don’t revert back to another multi year stretch of suck though. We need to keep banging it out to close out the decade.
  11. As we know…it works until it doesn’t. Like this winter proved.
  12. That photo is wild. I would love to know how tall those telegraph / telephone poles actually were. Searching the web it's surprising to me how few publicly circulated photographs there are of this storm. And the photos that do exist, at least those without any obvious indicators of timeframe like one you linked to, look like they're from the 30s or 40s rather than just three years before we put a man on the moon.
  13. Well it’s what he told me a week or so ago when I said we had only one nor’easter to date this year. And his point is very good when you think about it. Anyway…very glazed out there tonight.

  15. It’s a shame that the energy with this current system didn’t bundle into one main system yesterday or early today while we had the cold air mass in place.
