  1. Past hour
  2. We have a legit shot at the coolest August on record
  3. It’s super early but I’m giving it only a 10% of EC landfall. Gonna need building highs over top fast to keep it going WNW
  4. 94/69°F, The only thing that could be worse is dews in the mid 70's but then the temp would be lower.
  5. On the euro, it's too bad Erin feels that weakness around hr 186 and moves north. Otherwise that other trough diving into the GL might raise a few eyebrows, but it's way too late verbatim. Look at that massive gyre north of Maine.
  6. its actually an ideal location for those of us who like temperature extremes because its hotter during the day and colder at night than most other areas.
  7. I know, when I drive through that area, it's always a few degrees hotter than Manhattan and where I live. I think Don mentioned this before, that area is very densely populated with a lot of traffic, I'm sure it has something to do with it.
  8. 12Z Euro: best of both worlds with it well away from US and also~250 miles W of Bermuda:
  9. Very well may be. Sandy soils tend to heat up more quickly. Btw, there's a NJWxNet Mesonet station at Miller Airpark (separate from the AWOS), so you can always take a look at that too for corroboration with the KMJX reports: https://www.njweather.org/station/1032
  10. Probably just dormant, but 'crunch, crunch' when walking on it is a bit unsettling. Temp has reached 90 here, first time hitting that mark in August since 2002, when it was 90/90/91 on 8/13-15. Can we have another triple? My guess is that we get clouded (and 'dewed') out of 90s on Wednesday.
  11. 92° in downtown Greenfield, but definitely less oppressive than some of the other days we’ve had this summer. I’m not pouring sweat like I was two weeks ago. Going to feel nice hitting the river later!
  12. Thanks for the update. I'd missed that.
  13. At this point, we might have to start lighting forest fires to generate ratings.
  14. That’s quite something to read
  15. I think it is actually in Bayville. I can attest that is a natural hotspot. Once you are a few blocks away from Barnegat Bay, the heat just collects.
  16. Today
  17. The only positive about lower dews with heat is dog poop dries faster so it's easier to pick up. Since the dog has been on prednisone since the winter and will be long-term, he is extremely gassy with very soft poop that explodes when you pick it up, so the low dews allows it to dry quickly. Other than this, no other benefit to low dews.
