  1. Past hour
  2. I agree that this is nothing like Dec 2024 at this time, when the Euro Weeklies were much colder and this was the NOAA weeks 3-4 outlook, one of the coldest on record for the SE half of the US: AAM forecast had this then: Current AAM forecast: A somewhat better comparison might be this time in Dec of 2021, when there was a similarly very strong -PNA and Christmas was looking very warm.
  3. Welcome to 9.9/10 winters in Maryland.
  4. I hear the wind really picking up at my office in Chelsea, right down the street from KBOS.
  5. Was raining very heavily then quickly transitioned to heavy burst of snow. Precip lightened back to mix.
  6. Decent rain here since squall came thru around 7. Skies clearing west.
  7. I think John Henry purchased the atmosphere to replace the Penguins in the FSG portfolio..... #interestkings
  8. Gust to 76mph earlier on the Lake Placid Mesonet. SLK has gusted to 51. Snowpack being decimated and this is coming.
  9. Wind hype not materializing here (yet?). I'm at over 900' on the top of a hill with only farmland/no obstructions. Highest gust at 9 meters was 38mph, under very strong radar returns. When these storms pass and the winds kick from the west/northwest, & inversion breaks down, it is usually much more impressive here in terms of sustained and gusts. (Except for 12/23/22...that was a monster during the main event.)
  10. we valley...until 2 hours ago when temp shot up to 50. my 6" snowpack is gonna take a lickin'.
  11. If the CFSv2 seasonal is right this morning, LC is could be set to score a pretty coveted seasonal win....and I mean an outright thumping. He dared to go the exact opposite of many seasonal ideas.
  12. It’s just better all around. Better for the 23rd and offers chances after that. Overall colder and snowier look.
  13. If this continues to show up on the models for Tuesday the road departments will begin spreading the salt/liquid ice melter or whatever Monday afternoon and we begin the cycle all over again
  14. “If everyone will just accept this new paradigm…”
  15. Depends where but maybe like 10:30 to 1:30 or so there? You’ll be in western edge I think.
  16. Winds verified up here. Lost power from about 4AM to 7AM. Schools closed due to a few trees down in town and ongoing power outages. Large diseased ash came down in yard.
  17. I believe it, You didn't even go help your neighbors a week or so ago.
