  2. Well all of a sudden there’s this giant quasi stationary low offshore forming at the tail end of tomorrow’s cold front. That’s worth watching.

  4. That slowdown is what's causing the energy to get left behind and potentially become an ocean storn in the onshore flow environment. Don't know what, if any impacts will result from this but another coastal storm wouldn't surprise me.
  5. Long range looks pretty zzzz for the time being.

  8. Right on cue the models are slowing the frontal passage for Friday into Saturday. This has been the theme all year from weekend winter snowstorms to thunderstorms and nor’easters into the fall. So it looks like we’ll have more measurable rain here early Saturday. Luckily not the all day washout that we just had this past Sunday. But just enough light morning showers keep the measurable weekend precipitation streak going before we clear out during the day Saturday. New run Old run
  9. Look - I am *not* attempting to assert that CO2, vis a vis fossil fuel burning, is not a long term problem. It is. My assertions are the following: That it is not an existential crisis, or anything close to it That our policy efforts to solve the problem have been and continue to be misguided; specifically in that they a) have less positive impact in fixing the problem than most people think, and b) have more negative impact than most people think - both economically and environmentally
  10. That’s a full fledged cane. Certainly possible
  11. 50 degrees this morning. the last day before the fronts move in.
  12. Wow.... just.... wow. Listen to your yourself. I'll just put this here, and let you struggle with your existential crisis. Let me know when that trend starts upward due to our fossil fuel burning, so I can... run somewhere or something.
  13. Still 71 at Dulles. Where's the front??
  14. So your rebuttal is to latch onto one tiny bit in what I say, and misrepresent it? I did not say a windmill can kill a whale. That's the kind of mis-reading that causes people to misunderstand things, like the actual effects of climate change.
  15. Today
  16. High of 82 yesterday. 71 at midnight, 59 currently
  17. The new EURO run is off the charts. All time record-breaking in regions 1+2, 3 and 3.4 and by a lot. This is the projected traditional ONI for each region next month, keep in mind that the El Niño will still be strengthening at this point. It has the final peak happening in December My guess is that the ONI/RONI peaks in December. Guess for peaks: ONI: +4.1C - +4.2C RONI: +3.5C - +3.6C

  19. Hit with the double whammy this past week cold/flu now a stomach bug of some sort. Yesterday was beautiful sat outside for a bit.
  20. Definitely will see tons of volatility but that doesn't mean snow either. We could have powerful, wet systems though if any arctic air gets involved then maybe.
  21. Today maybe the first midnight high of the season?

Some may make damaging winds. A tornado is not out of the question. The strongest storms will likely be right along the front as it passes
