Well that exploded over me quickly!...and just as fast it was gone. Two small areas of transitional rotation in my immediate area.

Due to an inverted trough, heavy showers are occurring in the area moving from off the ocean including here. Rain started just after 8AM.

Edit on 8/9: I ended up with ~1” on 8/8, almost all falling between 8AM and 10AM.

Last measurable rain here was 8/1, .20" Last night's line evaporated just to the west. Made for some nice breezes though.

Yeah I Got a few drops last evening when that storm over Durham looked so powerful and I Was like great we will get some rain, but just enough to dampen the road here. It died just about 3/4 miles to my west.  Thunder was nice and continuous though for a little while. 

MTD: .51" here so far.

We got lucky on on the 2nd and picked up 1.12” but haven’t had anything since. Turned the sprinklers back on
