cbmclean
Assuming that's it for the week, I have received 30% of my year-to-date rainfall this past week. It's been a dry year. 3
Frankpc
We're in the Falls watershed near Laurel Creek (a couple of miles SW of the NC50/NC98 intersection) so we drain into Falls Lake. July to date: 9.1" +4.1" over the last few days = 13.2" We had 4.6" in June, so almost a foot and a half of rain for June/July. We're on a a community well, so our water restrictions are based on the drought intensity ratings. We've now dropped from D4 to D3 to D2 on successive weeks. The trend is your friend :-) 1

Avdave
.32 for the day here, most if came in the morning hours. Then a cloudy cool day. Felt nice walking into the garage and now walk into a furnace blast for a change. Was a good few weeks period here for rainfall. High for the day got to 72.8 at 17:59.

GaWx
It’s endless summer here with a very uncomfy 94 high at KSAV. I haven’t had significant rains at my place since way back on July 14th! However, Mon into the evening is looking promising. If that weren’t to deliver, it would be sprinklers time again.

NorthHillsWx
What makes this month’s rain even more impressive in the triangle is we achieved these totals without a tropical system involved. And it hasn’t been just a couple rogue storms, it has been consistent heavy events from the start to the end of the month. With many areas now over a foot of rain with more possible tomorrow, this month is working towards the top 5 wettest months all time for the area and probably the wettest ever without a significant tropical system to influence the totals. The drought isn’t over but per WRAL we needed 18” in July to end it and I’m sitting over 13” and RDU has nearly 12. That is damn impressive and lakes and rivers have responded as well

It was set in 2024: https://www.wral.com/archive/21561538/ The Raleigh record is what those tweets are speaking to and it is taking into account the switch to RDU as the reporting site in 1945, and observations at the previous sites which obviously go further back. So there is no RDU record pre-1945 as that site didn’t exist. But as shown, reporting site or not, tomorrow’s rain could shatter all records for the Raleigh area in July. My >13” total already has, if my site was official! It’s the wettest month I’ve had in 8 years of running my station 1

cbmclean
The first MCS appears to be holding together more than forecast, which could very well kill the chance for any severe in NC today. Frankly all I want is some more rain.
