Side note: Has anyone else noticed the color of the sky this afternoon and evening and the orange sun? Is that smoke from the wildfires in Canada?

High of 99 at 4:47pm. No smoky smell, but can see the smoke nearly overhead. Sunset should be interesting.

It is absolutely the smoke from Canadian wildfires. The northeast is getting the smoke bad. Here's some sat photos, the fires go way up into the north, but the worst is in the Ontario province.

My area has had some thunderstorms pop-up with light rain starting ~2PM. This may not amount to too much.

I noticed a slight blue haze today in Orange County at noon. Is the smoke here and is it going to get worse?

 At just before 8PM, I started getting mainly light to occasionally moderate rain. The relevant convection had developed nearby as a result of an E moving outflow boundary colliding with the seabreeze front. But what had been a heavy thunderstorm weakened by the time it started here. So, whereas this is measurable, it still isn’t much.

Edit: I got only ~0.04”.
