This 72 hour map shows how well much of N ATL metro did as well as much of E GA (not my area), NW 1/2 of SC, part of NC foothills/mtns and E Carolinas, portions of E TN, and some of N AL. If the HRRR is to be believed the Triad is going to be the big loser today after rain slid to our SE earlier. We did get enough to get the ground wet anyway, but clearing up again for now

Upstate is legitimately getting enough rain to end the drought there

Still can't get a flush hit... nickel and dimed my way to 0.73" today, 0.94" since Thursday.  1.94" for the month.

From Winston-Salem to Rocky Mount, the N piedmont and coastal plain has been the loser so far.

On the plus side, today was much wetter in E NC than the mesos and CAMs were depicting yesterday evening.  Hopefully that repeats again tomorrow.

We only got 0.11” at my house last night. That puts me at 2.21” for the week. We need about 20 inches to end the drought. As always, the heavier rains are isolated. For example, my son lives in Clemson. He is up to 4.31” for the week and 7.88” for the last 30 days, which is 4.10” above normal.

Total of 2.56" since Saturday, with the potential for a couple more inches the next week. Amazing how green everything is again.

Caught the edge of a small storm and picked up another .31".

GSO picked up 1.45" in 25 minutes in that last cell, more than we picked up in the 5 day stretch when we were supposed to get 2-4"

Picked up another.60 this afternoon. Heavy rain one minute, sun out the next, then back to rain. Very tropical like. Up to 3.10 since Thursday. More heavy rain incoming. Got a mow in before the rain!

Im surprised with the way the radar looked like around 1130am today we got nothing here today at RDU. Yesterday was good though here.

Another day, another glancing blow.  Cell ran out of steam just as it reached me.  0.04" today.  0.98" for the wet(ish) period.

 Another day, another ~trace of rain since midnight. Only ~0.30” of rain here in 3.5 weeks! I kid you not. This area and nearby has been about the driest in the entire SE over that period (since May 3rd). Even KSAV has had only 0.25” May 3rd-26th! That’s the driest there for that period since 2011. But alas, I’m still looking forward to a much wetter pattern locally. In addition to chances Wed/Thu, Fri-Tue is looking to be quite wet. So, I remain optimistic.

 Edit: Downtown CHS has also been very dry for the same period with a mere 0.17”! Like for here, the sea breeze has been keeping most of the shower activity inland for this week so far.
