canderson
I’ve not seen a snow pile in a month. That’s wild.
pawatch
Temperatures are all over the place this morning. I’m 34 degrees, Montourville is 39 degrees, 7 miles away. Buffalo NY 47 degrees. First grass mow of the season in yesterday. Toro push mower had a hard time starting, that was brand new last year. No fuel shutoff on them. Just run it out of gas last year. This is the remnants from the January storm. In the weeks that followed it was piled over 20' high. That is the only snow that I know of in my general driving area. LCBC Church in Manheim used to have enormous piles years ago but I haven't been by there in a long time. Gotta give a shoutout to Camelback Ski Resort in Tannersville. Not only are they still open, they actually made snow last night! They've already announced that they're extending their ski season into May this year. Should be interesting next week with the onset of VERY warm weather. Here's a look - the base looks really good for this time of year: https://www.camelbackresort.com/resort-information/live-cameras I remember after the blizzard of 93 there was still a snow pile only about 4 inches deep above Millersburg on Memorial Day. That was from the snow that slid off the Mahantango Mountain along rt. 147 north of Millersburg. That pile was created by Penndot when they removed the snow on 147 that was around 10 feet deep in places on the roadway.
Mount Joy Snowman
Low of 30 and yesterday morning's low was actually 23. We've had full April sun the last couple days and still busted low on high temps, not something we see very often. Impressive. Going to get my first mow in after work today, assuming the mower starts ha. 1
ChescoWx
Another widespread freeze this morning across the area with our lowest Chesco climate station the 24.7 at the Warwick DEOS. We remain well below normal today with highs in the middle 50’s, but a nice warming trend kicks in starting tomorrow and we get very warm with low 80's possible by next Tuesday and Wednesday! We could use a little rain but nothing in sight over the next week.

ChescoWx
Today will be our first above normal temperature day since Easter Sunday. We should see some sun later today with temperatures well into the 60's. We chill back to normal temperatures over the weekend with highs in the low 60's before a big warmup next week. The warmest day here in Chester County looks to be Wednesday with highs in the low to mid 80's (1st 90+ possible near the Philly heat island area) Temperatures start to cool a bit later next week. Sadly, no rain in the forecast at all!
Mount Joy Snowman
Low of 42. My trusty ‘ol push mower fired right up yesterday. Splendid weekend ahead before we turn hot for next week. Happy Friday, all.

Jns2183
If people are not aware I wanted to let them know about the PEMN Network Penn state's putting a lot of places that are rural. We're talking about many thousands of dollar professional stations that put out excellent one minute data that can be seen in real time. If you go to the Pennsylvania climate website and look for PEMN viewer Sent from my SM-S731U using Tapatalk 2
Jns2183
Those stations I posted about from PEMN have soil moisture and temperature at 3 depthsPlant Available Water.10\text{cm}: Moisture for your Lawn. (Currently in a deficit/drying phase).20\text{cm}: Moisture for your Shrubs and Garden. (Currently stable, near baseline).50\text{cm}: Moisture for your Trees. (Currently very healthy and high).Watch moisture after it rains and during dry spells. They signal everything The rain past Sunday never even with dent on the deeper sensors. The upper sensor we already are below where we were on Sunday. Sent from my SM-S731U using Tapatalk

ChescoWx
Today way back in 1894 Chester County shoveled out of the largest April snowstorm in County history with over a foot of snow across much of the county including 29.2" at the Coatesville 1SW NWS cooperative observer station. Nothing like that in our future this April as after near normal temperatures around 60 degrees both today and tomorrow we start a nice warmup peaking with high temperatures in the mid 80's both Wednesday and Thursday. Our best chances of showers arrive by the end of the upcoming work week.

Jns2183
To the wisdom filled folks here who have any remembrance of the famous northeast 5+ year drought what do you remember. Reading up on it in context of the 1960's was a wild ride. It appears states were preparing to come to blows with other states, like drawing up national guard plans, to secure their water due to some ridiculous poor planning. The Delaware river was site to a full on war against the salinity encroachment not threatened to make all drinking water in se pa undrinkable. Throwing the crazy politics and daily bombings and it seems like a wild ride. Sent from my SM-S731U using Tapatalk
TheDreamTraveler
Very nice day today. Though having 5 days in the 80's next week with 2 of them flirting with 90 is gonna be miserable if it's really humid too. I didn't look at the dew points for next week

Voyager
62 over a forecast high of 57. It got nice late, but this morning was another story. Drove to East Stroudsburg to see my grandson's baseball game. I lasted 2 innings. The cold, in your face wind, was just too much to take.
Jns2183
If you're in the mood the nerdout, I’ve been drifting into the "ghost math" of how we actually capture the sky. It turns out our rain gauges are essentially professional liars, especially when the wind is busy whisking our snow away or the radar beams are overshooting the action entirely. I’ve pulled together a little guide on the invisible physics behind it all, from the way a breeze "deflects" a snowflake right past the collector to why our local airport totals might be missing a good 15% of the real story. It’s dive into fluid dynamics and PA weather quirks, perfect for anyone who wants to see the logic that turns raw data into the actual ground truth.https://jns182wx.github.io/Gauge_Bias_Correction/I have a couple of calculators for anyone to try figure out their own biasesSent from my SM-S731U using Tapatalk
