Didn't break  a record…record 95 degrees set 1962.

Garden view where I live, we had 95-96 depending what thermometers I go off of.

We also had a lot of thunder and lightning in the area from 10:30 pm to 1:30 pm. One heck of a lightning storm, but very little rain.

That storm moved NE out of Centre County and the core probably missed you just to your southeast. My wife and I were sitting outside last night watching the lightning show from over 100 miles away.

I had one storm go to the south and then one to the north, Trout Run area.

It's 88 degrees at 10:30 in the morning. Sorry to my hot weather friends but this is ridiculous. (to me) Forecast high is now 98...

Agreed, not sure how anyone "sane" can say that's enjoyable.. but.... To each their own lol.

I'm finding out my thyroid is affecting the way my body handles both cold and hot extremes now. This heat is a little rough. 70s to low 80s are perfect.

It's only enjoyable to me if I'm near or inside water. Other than that, it's too damned hot.

After spending many years in the Army in full combat gear in the hottest places imaginable. Then getting out in my late 20's, and doing construction with zero shade during the peak of summer. I could careless to see another heat wave in my life lol. 

We all have our likes and dislikes though, me personally; although I love snow and cold..I could live with 65 and no humidity year round! Heat I mentally and physically can no longer do. I become downright miserable in it.

Yes. If I'm having a pool or beach weekend (rare for me anymore) then I prefer 90 degree weather.

Here in the NW Philly burbs of Chester County in East Nantmeal (elev. 700 feet ASL) we have hit a high so far today of 88.0 degrees. We have still not hit 90 degrees here this year. I have been at this location for this my 23rd summer. Over those years I have only recorded a 90 degree temperature 76 times or around 3.5 times a typical summer season. To put that in persective the Philadelphia International Airport has in just the last 3 summers recorded a 90 plus reading a whopping 92 times! During the last 22 years PHL is averaging a 90+ reading 32 times a season.

As long as I've got a water source and good AC then I like really hot days like this. Unless I have to be stuck outside in it all day with no way to cool off then it's too much. Probably nostalgia growing up as a kid for me in the 90s and 2000's since my parents had a pool and AC always going in the summer which was really relaxing once you got inside after baking in the heat

We need the rain but man what a bad weekend for us. We sponsor the airshow in Harrisburg this weekend and it looks like all three days will be no fly. One thing I hate about the promoter of that airshow is they have no refunds even with cancellation for weather.

Who is ready for some weather whiplash? After one more unseasonably warm day today we flip to unseasonably chilly starting tomorrow and lasting through at least Sunday. Tomorrow's afternoon temperatures are likely to be more than 30 degrees chillier than today with widespread 50's. We turn even chillier by Saturday with some models hinting at record low maximum temperatures with highs struggling to escape the cold 40's during the afternoon. Some much-needed rain looks to arrive later today and continue off and on through tomorrow. More steady rain arrives Friday night and continues through Saturday. This combination of rain and cold will make Saturday feel more like a raw early March day than Memorial Day Weekend.
