Are we really talking about a 4 inch snowstorm in NYC metro off a warm front with marginal cold to start?

Hey, I hope it works!

If the snow/overrunning move in quickly while the cold air is still in place it can work. If it delays and the cold air moves out, it won’t. We’ve seen this game before.

Last airmass was colder than this one .

not according to SnowGoose - he wrote previously--

"The airmass believe it or not is better than it was with the last event.  At least to start.  Its 32/13 on the NAM at 12Z.  The bigger risk with this is it just is largely too far north in the end."

Huh? The link to the NWS blend of models is the TOTAL snowfall out to 89 hours, which is Wednesday. Look at what it’s showing…that’s now till Wednesday, total. And the GEFS is in complete disagreement with its own operational run, that is fact and it’s a red flag

you guys are spending Christmas together, aren’t you

Its not a strong low . Its a shredded low with blocking .

I’m in Austin currently and flying back on Tuesday so part of me doesn’t want this to happen, but if it does and we can secure the White Christmas great. Somehow through a miracle my flight took off yesterday even though the first 15 minutes were pretty white knuckle. Wearing shorts and temp around 70, 70s expected for the rest of my time here.

It’ll delay my flight back somehow so it’s guaranteed to happen.

Weather is always the airlines excuse. It's in most cases not the weather. It's because they suck.

We took off yesterday afternoon so not always. Any snow threat always seems to do it though. I thought for sure I’d be delayed by a ton or canceled. Had a couple screams on the plane on the way out of JFK.

Nam shifted north

Nothing for NYC

Well I think we’re in a very sensitive spot. If it shifts too far north then it’s just rain showers. If it shifts too far south then it’ll probably get shredded even more. Not sure the cards are there for us for this one
