Looking at the radar returns I’m guessing at least 2 inch per our snow rates for the next 3 hours to take us over a foot.

yep. I don't want to celebrate early, but i like the way the radar looks.

It’s a little windier than I would have thought. Seen 30+ gusts reported in some places and a bunch of 20+.

Might be one of the reasons why the flakes have been a little smaller, but still extremely efficient.

I was a little worried about that earlier and snow growth but yeah. Rates are great still

And looking at the RAP, the 850 looks to transition from w-->e. No more northern progress

If by big you mean widespread double digits, that’s an interesting point. A few came close, but those have all been in Dec, Feb, and March since then.

You could make a case for 2016 but that wasn’t region wide, only the southern parts got there.

Hopefully some moisture gets stuck in western Pennsylvania and it continues snowing longer than expected. I know a lot of times we're dealing with mix and dry slots, but a surprising amount of snow comes after the storm moves away and it gets us near the forecast anyways. Obviously not dealing with either today, but hopefully we still benefit from that scenario.

lol not sure all I know is I had a 6 month old at the time-might have been February-we still lived in Bethel Park off KingsSchool rd-when we came back Monday we couldn’t get into the driveway-easy 2 foot then….

Feb 5-6 2010. The reason I got into this crazy hobby

21 inches of snow here and most Mets busted hard on the forecast.

I remember by buddy from HS-who’s now chief meteorologist for WTOV9 telling me that was gonna be big-ignore what everyone was calling for-he nailed it! I remember kdka and WTAE calling for some absurd small accumulation. Wish these boards were running back then

Yeah I just remember being in high-school and we had like 5 inches by late evening and I knew immediately we were gonna get crushed. I get being cautious on forecasting large amounts but most screwed the pooch hard.
