I have 2" on my board, but the wind is blowing it around so who knows how much has actually fallen so far. Sent from my Pixel 10 Pro using Tapatalk I have to admit I was fully expecting a ruler pic of 5+ inches on the board. In my opinion it underperformed for your location.

TY for sharing, and keep 'em coming. Obs-wise, was almost balmy in low 50s but windy last night before bed...still breezy at 42, guessing that cold front is still trucking through.

wncsnow
It turned out to be a weak NWFS. Not even a dusting in west AVL or Black Mountain.

Is a skiff the scientific term below a dusting? I had a little on the cars, the roof, and the deck. Not enough to cover any of those, but it was there.
WxKnurd
You guys are having a great start to the season, guess I had to up and move to make it happen haha! Second storm of the season here in Billings starts tonight, overrunning situation calling for 5-10” and temps in the teens after the front comes through this afternoon. Warms back up again early next week (a repeat of this past weekend and this week, albeit colder and more snow this weekend instead of a light snow like last Friday and Saturday.) W and NW slopes down in the Beartooths have 1-2 feet this weekend if not more.

Maggie Valley Steve Posted yesterday at 12:04 AM Share Posted yesterday at 12:04 AM Looking like we actually have a true clipper system heading our way overnight. I expect Buckethead will report an inch or two overnight. Perhaps flurries here in Haywood County overnight. The fast flow continues into the coming weekend!

It looks VERY healthy on radar. Sent from my Pixel 10 Pro using Tapatalk

Maggie Valley Steve Posted yesterday at 02:23 PM Share Posted yesterday at 02:23 PM I apparently had a bit of very light snow overnight. I suppose it's officially a trace, but I'm still surprised this far south.
WxKnurd Posted yesterday at 02:49 PM Share Posted yesterday at 02:49 PM Obligatory “looking out the window to gauge accumulation” picture, first one while in Montana. Still snowing, supposed to taper off by noon. Will my first official storm here (was back east for the Thanksgiving one) give me the foot-plus I’ve been chasing for like a decade? Still coming down good currently.
WxKnurd Posted yesterday at 03:58 PM Share Posted yesterday at 03:58 PM Measured 9” before I started shoveling (gonna have to get used to that, I ever buy a house and am not renting I’ll have a snow blower, at least it was a good workout ha!). Double digits is a given, but do we squeak out enough to hit a foot. Another overperformer, forecast was 5-10” for the warning area and 8” point and click forecast here in downtown where I am.
Tyler Penland Posted yesterday at 04:27 PM Share Posted yesterday at 04:27 PM Another dusting overnight. The NAM means business with the cold moving in Sunday. Drops Boone to 4° by 7PM. WxKnurd
Snow has stopped, may move back south tonight into the morning but it will be light and forecast to be less than an inch. More shoveling on my lunch break, measured 10” in a more sheltered place (lower rot ground and blocked by the planter) and 11” on the picnic table, going with 11” for my unofficial measurement. For clarification, this is in Billings and not our beautiful NC mountains. Miss my NC brethren!

Maggie Valley Steve
I managed to hit 49 today. Tomorrow should be a bit warmer making my warmest day so far this December! Snow returns Saturday night into Sunday as the Arctic front arrives with very gusty winds and windchill real feel temperatures in the -10 to -15 range and actual low temperature of 8 degrees Monday morning. The coldest I've had was back on November 11th with a 7 reading when the last Polar Vortex lobe hit our Region.

Got a lot more winter to go.
