Can't say I know a thing about strat-warming events. But it "seems" when the do occur, the cold gets dumped on the other side of the globe.

My weenie approach to winter weather: Expect nothing and be happy if ya get sumthin'.

After 30+ years living in this region, that's really the ticket to enjoying winter in these parts:lol:

The early cold performing is a Nina trademark I believe lures weenies into believing a special winter is afoot

Then bam springtime around the solstice in time for Christmas, like 40/70 thinks

I fell for that hook, line & sinker in Dec 1989 :weenie:

the big pattern change is afoot- 4 corners lows constantly ejecting toward us for the next 3-4 weeks. One of them should be a minimal car topper event but still the GOM is not opened for business yet. We really need one of the 4 corner lows  to go into the GOM and then run up the coast and stall as a Miller A. The PAC winds are just to strong right now and too progressive. Three more days of 40+ winds coming this week. I am so tired of dealing with dead ash trees falling with our public works dept.

Eight years ago today we were in the middle of a snowstorm that would bring between 4" to 7" of snow across the county. A little different here today with today being our warmest day till Friday. Clouds are on the increase with a few showers possible by evening. Rain amounts look pretty light with under 0.10” A cold front crossing the area will move through overnight and we will see winds increasing from the west and temperatures dropping during the day on Sunday. Below normal temperatures for most of the work week with highs in the 40's and lows near or below freezing. We warm to near 50 degrees on Thursday with rain chances increasing by Thursday night.

A cold front passed through the area earlier this morning and our temperatures will slowly fall into the 40's and then the 30's this evening. A Wind Advisory is in effect for winds as high as 45mph so watch for some power outages in the normal spots. A chilly week ahead with some rain chances Tuesday night and again by Thursday night into next weekend. We do turn much milder by Friday with highs well into the 50's which is about 8 degrees above normal for later November.image.png.6c6cec64e8fa6e019c82a4a85a3c553d.pngimage.thumb.png.533f33bd2a4a5a46018a714addcd9dc0.png

We do wind pretty well around here lately

Last year as well. It's been a bitch with the winds we just can't get the God damn snow. Damn it!

Winds are   howling. Hopefully some capacitors  blow up. I'll take a good tree falling, smashing stuff and junk. Weather has been boring.Hell, I'll take a big flood thing for drought - guy,....

Still breezy today but not nearly as windy as yesterday. Unseasonably chilly temperatures both today and tomorrow with highs in the low to mid 40's. We see temperatures remaining in the upper 40's both Thursday and Friday before we warm into the upper 50's by Friday. Some rain chances maybe mixed with some wet snow tomorrow night and additional rain chances on Friday.image.png.77df268eebbbd8562d398d860a6c76e3.pngimage.png.d93a9d1fdee973f1cf6f9768ea6ce962.png

Just had a snow shower with one of those lake effect streamers moving SE. First one of the season. No accumulation.

I was listening to the end of the Eagles game on the radio, Mike Quick said he thought he saw flurries coming down.
