Hours of thunder through the afternoon and evening but not a drop of rain. Two days ago we got a very brief (~30 sec or so) light shower but I couldn't tell where it was coming from. All of us at the neighborhood pool were looking around like "where's the cloud?" and laughing about it. All I can figure was the winds were blowing it around pretty good on the way down... GaWx
Lots of heavy thunderstorms in the area, including right here on one of the islands that I’m visiting. Plentiful CTG lightning. Storming at my place, too, per radar. First rain of significance since way back on 6/18! Edit: My home ended up with ~0.9” on July 3rd, mainly from this thunderstorm between 1 and 2 PM. cbmclean
Visiting family in Hope Mills, not really that bad yesterday. Skies were only partly cloudy in the afternoon, but they blocked a lot of the direct sunlight and humidity was not bad at all. A far cry from last year

FlashFreeze
Hello everyone, I normally post on the New England forum however I am in North Myrtle Beach and the weather has quickly deteriorated to heavy squalls and the wind has increased considerably in the last 30 minutes from an estimated 10 to 15 miles an hour to 20 to 25 with a couple of gusts that have been 40mph at least, I don’t have an anemometer however I think that is a pretty close estimate. 2
NorthHillsWx
In Morehead city we just had a nasty squall move through with likely some 40 mph gusts. Wind is generally 20-25. Looks like ocean isle to Myrtle beach got a decent little blow from this storm overnight

About the same here in Raleigh but I’ll take it over the nearly 1 foot near chapel hill. Also the biggest rainfall event here in more than 3 weeks so we’ll definitely take it

In the RAH AFD I saw mention of slow-moving downpours; could be very problematic if it happens over the areas that just got deluged.
