I am still waiting for a winter storm warning event LOL.  You know its dry when another sinkhole opens up a 100 ft wide  crater right across the street from the Amazon Center in Palmer Township.  The hurricane in a few weeks will take care of any drought conditions. Planting grass seed is impossible in these conditions. This is seal your driveway or paint the fence weather dry and hot.

No, thank you. My area is fine, and hasn't been in a drought since about March 5. (I told you after the Eagles Parade, when I saw mud, that the drought was almost over. Lo and behold, three weeks later, we got the rain event that was the beginning of the end of the drought.)

I don't want a hurricane. I'd be okay with some T-storm events (like 7/31, and that wasn't long ago), but a hurricane would be overboard, and probably put my area in a flooding situation.

We should see for some spots today recording their first above normal temperature day so far here in August. The humidity will also increase. The warmest day of the work week should be tomorrow with temperatures well up into the 80's and maybe touching 90 degrees in some of the valley locations. A front should pass through the area on Wednesday night which should bring the humidity down toward the end of the week. We could see some showers and thunderstorms with the front by Wednesday evening. Next weekend looks sunny with increasingly warm temperatures.

Yesterday was our 11th straight below normal temperature day here in East Nantmeal to start the month of August. Today we should finally see above normal temperatures and they look like they should last through the week and into the weekend. We should see temperatures in the mid to upper 80's for the rest of the work week and maybe reaching the 90's by Sunday. We have been dry so far this month so the potential shower later tomorrow into the evening will be welcomed by our many area farmers and green thumbs.

Showers and thunderstorms are becoming more likely as we move toward later this afternoon and into the night. For most spots this will be our first measurable rain since August 1st. The sun returns by Friday with above normal temperatures through the weekend and then cool back to near to below normal by early in the new work week. Our best chance at what could very well be our last 90 plus day of the summer looks to be Sunday.

Tons of close CGs with this storm. Not severe otherwise but it’s bringing quite the downpour.

2"+ PWATS doing their thing.  Hoping to cash in on some of that later on.  Probably won't, though.  lol

Most folks across the north and west parts of the county saw little rain (under 0.05")....much different across other spots with West Grove 1.39" / Nottingham 2.33" / Avondale 1N 0.55" / Kennett Square 1.26" / Devault 1.70". We do have a chance at some more showers this afternoon. Mainly dry and sunny weather looks likely for the weekend. Of note most spots across Chester County have not experienced any days over 90 degrees so far here in August. The exceptions were West Chester and Devault yesterday. Most spots in the county look to have potentially their next shot at a 90-degree temperature on Sunday with highs well into the 80's. As we move through next week temperatures begin to cool back down to not far from normal levels with some higher spots seeing highs mainly in the 70's by mid-week.
