E PA/NJ/DE Summer 2025 Obs/Discussion

Ended up with 0.48" of rain yesterday.  Have 0.16" today.  Still raining, 71F.

Here in June in Chester County PA finished with an average temperature across the county of 71.9 degrees. This was the 26th warmest June since records began in 1893. Of note 19 of the 25 warmest June months occurred prior to 1980. Below is the climate summary by Station for June 2025.

I finished up with 1.46" of rain yesterday and had 0.11 overnight and this morning for a 2-day July total of 1.57" and a 3-day event total of 2.20".

Bottomed out at 70 this morning and actually got up to 86 for a high today.

It's currently a partly sunny (as the sun begins to set soon) and somewhat hazy 81 with dp 72.

A beautiful stretch of weather is underway for the 4^th of July holiday weekend! Today will be our warmest day until Sunday. We should see highs today in the mid 80’s. We cool a little tomorrow to slightly below average temperatures for the 4^th of July with our highs in the lower 80’s. Our next chance of rain looks to arrive by Tuesday evening.

Winds are more WNW than NW as originally anticipated today which is leading to some training storms in the Lehigh Valley, rather than the quick ones we were supposed to get. As if we needed anymore rain.

Thankfully, I got less than a 1/4”, but definitely parts of the Allentown area and points north in the LV got 1-2”. I drove through some of it and it was torrential.
