cyclone77
Nice storm with nearly continuous thunder for a good half hour. Picked up 1.06"
hawkeye_wx
As most models suggested, we got nothing out of this front. The next week looks dry. It's amazing how difficult it is to get rain this year. 1
OrdIowPitMsp
Picture perfect weather this weekend. High around 70 and beginning to get that fall “crisp” feel to the air. Was outside with the family from around 9am til 5pm today. Little guy is all tuckered out early today.
cyclone77
Another half inch this evening from some decaying convection/anvil rains. Up to 1.60" for the day.
Brian D
Nice wx with very heavy geese movement. Looking at our local paper, and Two Harbors is getting the Ok for a twice yearly goose hunt at our local airport. They get pretty thick there, and interfere with the operations. Golf course is another place, but can't hunt that. Nothing like playing through goose sh*t. LOL Back in my Army days stationed in NJ, our parade field was a big stop for CA geese. The field would be full of crap, and SGT's love to have us do PT in that. A**holes. Grr!

cyclone77
Radar is estimating between 6-8" of rain now north of Hammond, where it's still dumping. Some nice towers popping up here with some isolated showers developing.

Lightning
Getting a decent shower here. Had some thunder to the north for a while but have heard any in the past 15 minutes. Love it when it rains. For some reason whenever something is falling from above I am a happy camper

The best rain split north and south of Cedar Rapids. The entire spring and summer rain season has been an absolute dumpster fire. May-Sep 2023 is now drier than May-Sep 2012. We are now 12 inches of rain below avg during that period. There is hope for some actual good rain this weekend, but I won't believe it until I see it in my gauge. 1

The new op Euro stalls the upper low over our western subforum area and would be ideal... inches of rain over several days. The EPS qpf mean, however, only has 1.25-1.50" through the period, though, which means there are also plenty of drier ensemble members, so a lot can change.
