We picked up 0.15" of rain in East Nantmeal with greater amounts to the south and east of here last evening. Today should see a general lull in the rain with only a few scattered showers. It looks like steadier rain moves back in late tonight and tomorrow. Our unseasonably chilly days continue - in fact today has a chance to set a new record low maximum temperature. The current record is 65 degrees set way back in 1915. It will turn warmer and much more humid by tomorrow PM...with rain chances or probabilities continued for much of the next full week!
Records for today: High 97 (1921) / Low 42 (1940) / Rain 3.75" (1972)

Models continue backing off for significant amounts of precip with each progressive run... There's becoming a real possibility this "wet period" finishes with under a half inch of precip for many locations. Last night was a joke.

12z GFS and CMC with just .50" for much of the region through Sunday. Only a few days ago the euro had near 2" for yesterday and today. This is becoming a titanic bust.

March 2001 level stuff lol

Yep the drought is looking like it's going to win this round. Obviously places that get a thunderstorm will make out OK but this looking more and more like a localized event and less like a regional widespread rainfall.

We indeed set a record low maximum temperature yesterday of 64.9 degrees. This made yesterday the lowest high temperature in Chester County history since records began back in 1888. An impressive 19 of the 22 days so far in June have averaged below normal temperatures. In fact overall so far this month this is the 7th coldest June in our history. It is also the coldest June in 20 years as 2003 was our 6th coldest June to date. We did not receive any measurable rain yesterday but that should change by this afternoon and evening. We should see some heavy rain at times thru later tomorrow afternoon. A little less likely to see rain on Sunday before rain chances increase again by Monday.

Let's see the SSWE happened in March? What followed was a top 5 warm April, the driest May ever dominated by Canadian high pressure(weird) that was below normal, and now some strange dry transitioning to stuck trough wet June that will probably be the coldest in decades.

I could take a leak more than what has fallen thus far.  All these spotty showers are doing is simply washing the pollen off the cars. We need significant rain to infiltrate the ground and I mean inches of rain not a .5 inch here or there.  The Euro saying 5 in-- it has not been right for the six months on any precip event.  This winter was pathetic with this LR model. No LR range model has produced. We must rely on 48 hour models until this stubborn Canadian HP system moves the hell out of the way. This current dominating Canadian pattern  has really screwed up the reliability and accuracy of  LR models since last December. Time for recalibrating these models since the current pattern last existed in the 60's- 70's
