February Observations.

Went back to Woody gap in GA today.  Some large snowflakes and 35 at the top but very little in the way of accumulation this afternoon.   Roads were brined.   They are expecting 1-2” tonight.    I had targeted 441 between Cherokee and Gatlinburg but it was closed due to snow and ice.

Currently in the mid 40s and smokey. Started out cold and crisp this morning.  Low to mid 40s.

Currently 46. 

Made it into the mid 60s today. Was breezy.

VIRGINIA AND NORTH CAROLINA...

At 241 AM EST, a band of heavy snow extended from near Nella
through Cana to near Horse Pasture. Movement was east at 40 mph.

Locations impacted include...
Eden...
Mount Airy...
Flat Rock...
Mayodan...
Sparta...
Jefferson...
and Dobson.

Expect a rapid accumulation of up to an inch of snow along with
visibility near zero at times. Roads will quickly become slippery
and make driving hazardous.

Well, with the close of Met winter I will say that it could have been much much much worse.  The 4" of snow and the repeated (if brief) cool snaps really helped me to make piece with this winter.  On to spring.
