Nice storm here in Livonia. 55mph gusts with the OFB and again with the storm itself. Half inch hail. Nice storm.

Storm near coldwater needs a tornado warning if Im seeing it correctly.

Not seeing much from IWX with it and the outflow is ahead of the line.

That 4.25" hail report from APX in Ogemaw county has to be one of the biggest ever north of I-69 in MI...

I didn't see the 4.25", that might be one of the biggest hail reports for the state. Going back to 1950 I only found 3 instances larger:

4.50 inch hail 07-26-78 Livingston County

4.50 inch hail 07-26-78 Macomb County

4.50 inch hail 03-27-91 Kalamazoo County

Dang, that's pretty crazy. I had to sift through the reports, but it's in their latest summary:

0455 PM HAIL 3 S CLEAR LAKE 44.38N 84.24W

08/02/2015 E4.25 INCH OGEMAW MI PUBLIC

Other than a few isolated cells that managed to pop south and southwest of the QC, it was a pretty big bust for eastern IA and northwest IL.  Even though we really don't need the rain it's pretty disappointing.  Congrats to northeast IL, and the MI peeps.

Did manage a distant shot of some lightning to the northeast.

Quality line...a couple severe gusts and a few pockets of hail...lightning continuous....and anvil crawlers was a great cherry on top.

A couple of smaller branches came down, but nothing too big locally.

One of the better IMBY impacts on the year...Windows back open for the at least the next few days

This storm is legit. The main line is way down in Ohio and I'm still getting brilliant lighting and rolling thunder.

Yeah I can't believe the amount of lightning I am still seeing in all quadrants even with the line all the way down in Ohio. Some amazing cloud to cloud and cloud to air lighting across the anvil. I have to admit even if it wasn't severe in my location, this has been a very good stormy night.

Earlier in the day Sleeping Bear Dunes got absolutely crushed. Some great pictures of the storm as it was about to come ashore off of Lake Michigan. There was potentially a tornado in Glen Arbor as well.

Awesome stuff. Still lightning in the distance to the south.
