Despite the CINH, the storms are being forced through the cap by fairly impressive surface convergence.

Of course, without a well-defined trigger aside from this convergence, it will be hard for much in the way of organization.

That is some very strong convergence, if it holds together maybe the southern part of the metro can pick up some storms after midnight.

Watch out for that line coming out of southern wisco by Rockford....if it condenses and smacks that northward running OFB

that's the exact same scenario i'm waiting for before i come in for the night, we should see a nice boost as it rides SSE along that boundary.

Yeah likely when you see a tree down report like that, there's some rot or something going on inside.

Rumbling now with lightning in the clouds to the west and northwest.

Alek's shut out is about to end with the cell moving in from the west-southwest which is now severe warned.

Was there ever a question of a complete shut out by anyone besides Alek?

It's hard for any one location not to get strong/severe t'storms with the amount of instability, moisture and convergence this event has.

It's always a risk until upscale growth occurs.  But that cell out west looks to come into parts of the city (can't remember where Alek is located exactly).
