downeastnc Posted June 25, 2015 Share Posted June 25, 2015 I am sure the folks north of I40 between Mebane and Hillsborough have to be wondering what the hell is going on they have another severe cell with hail over them that's got to be the 3rd or 4th on in the last hr and half, and like Iso pointed out that cell moving into Chapel Hill getting severe fast...rotation is broad but there and downburst are almost assured dcape and microburst indicators in the triangle are very high right now... These storms were located from near rdu international to near Chapel HIll...and moving southeast at 10 mph. * Locations impacted include... Raleigh...Durham...Cary...Chapel HIll...Carrboro...rdu international...apex...Morrisville...Jordan Lake state rec area and Crosswinds boating center. I got the old shaftola inbound here in southern Wake. Looks like the main activity keeps dying off to the east and reforming farther west. Bummer.
