KPITSnow
GFS is further south again. Unreal. When we need a trend north, the storm sags south.
RitualOfTheTrout
Were gonna be fringed... Yep, it ticked South from 6z. Oh well, at least we will always have the 00z NAM solution to look at.
Stinkbugspecialist
If we have a choice 1 inch or nothing. Keep trending south so we can get on with spring,I fed up with these 1/2 inch- 3 inch storms. We had 30 already this year,,,

RitualOfTheTrout
At least we all should have expected it.. I know I did, it was what I was most worried about happening. GFS is further south again. Unreal. When we need a trend north, the storm sags south. This winter has been worse than most in that regard, at least anecdotally it seems every area South, North, East, and West has gotten all the good hits. Still to early to give up yet, but the NAM and GFS are both troubling. I thought the GFS would come a bit closer to the NAM not the NAM trend towards totally caving to it especially given other global guidance was looking like a compromise between the 2. Rd9108
**** this, we all knew it would happen. Doesn't take a met to know the outcome for our area. I thought this was the storm for us, just like the SB storm. It looks like 2-4 for us while south of us gets hammered. Ahhhhh why do I even track these stupid storms. KPITSnow
I didnt realize it was Friday already and we were doing post mortem... You have to admit though, the writing is on the wall. That said, the last storm I did way better than I thought. Might have only been 4 inches on the ground where I was at in West View, but probably a total accumulation of about 6 or 7 inches with the compaction. I stayed basically all snow. Rd9108
So if the Euro holds or ticks north what do we make of it? Is this all based upon how fast the cold air rushes in right?

Rd9108
Uk Met apparently a little south GGEM stayed south And everyone in AGH is gonna get fringed. I would bet money on it. We can analyze models all we want, but at the end of the day the trend is not our friend. Again 2 degrees could make a huge difference. We need the cold front to slow down. colonel717
UKMet well south. As the Gunner would say, You can kiss it goodbye... I am speaking in terms of significant snow 6+ for all AGC...
blackngoldrules
At least we all should have expected it..We either get fringed or slop. That's just how it is around here. My expectations were never high for this one. Like a lot here have said, the bust potential is too high. We're unlucky with storms to begin with, let alone setups like this one. north pgh
You know we are only going to get fringed right? It always happens. So does the move south start tonight? I hope not but history says so.
RitualOfTheTrout
Hopefully Mailman and Jwilson can at least score on this one, looks like at least i70 and South has a shot a 6+. They have gotten shafted on some of the storms that us a bit further north did better on.

RitualOfTheTrout
I've lowered my expectations now. Hoping Greensburg at least gets 6, maybe then I could still justify a snow day! There is still enough time we could see the overall track change 30-50 miles in either direction. If we get a little more interaction with the southern stream is all it would take. north pgh
I think there is still room for this to move either more north or south depending on the what the current storm moving through today does. I am already above 32 and the precip has jumped north. This are going to either get interesting again tonight with a move back north or the storms continues off to the south east. Take your pick. Has too much snow north. RitualOfTheTrout
This setup is going to have a huge moisture fetch The areas that gets the best of cold and precip is going to get pummeled. That is what makes this so disappointing.
