Chicago WX
Temp up to 56. I don't know if this is possible but it seems like my allergies have been acting up in the past couple days. Spring has sprung. And you're probably hallucinating.
daddylonglegs
That is it for here...clouds have put to stop any more warming. Some shots of sun, but temps stuck around 40F Snow is melting like crazy today...
hawkeye_wx
Once again our temp has shot into the mid 50s. It looks like the plume of low clouds streaming up from the south will bypass CR to the southeast and leave us mostly sunny. Today is CR's 7th day in the 50s this January... pretty awesome. Chicago Storm
55 here and 56 at ORD. cloud deck has moved in, so that probably kills any 60F potential.
hm8
53 and sunny here. Gross.
daddylonglegs
Good melting today. Probably not going to be much snowpack left by Friday at this rate.
SpartyOn
That little bit of snow isn't going to do crap to prevent you from warming up to max potential.. You'll be able to sport your speedo and 1.5" of pure male passion poking straight out from your loins. Classic Bowmee
SpartyOn
56 degrees. Disc golfers are out but the park is a muddy mess. Eitherway it's nice to come home early to hit the chains.
wisconsinwx
53F on the last day of January. January closes out like a lamb, after the first two weeks of the month were largely a lamb as well. Go figure: in Saukville, on Wunderground's current conditions, a Saukville observation is reporting the warmest temp: 58F. Any guess as to who that observer is? daddylonglegs
Wisconsinwx- Know need to worry. Its showing mid 70Fs in my backyard....under 3mil of clear plastic. ...the soil is even soft and there are some green weeds still growing.

Chicago WX
Closest without going over wins I'm screwed then. Though, 3 degree intra hour bumps are not unheard of at LAF. Just need about 5 minutes of sun to hit that thermometer on one of the runways out there.

snowstormcanuck
DC winter. Pic looks nice though. I guess it's better to have snowed and lost then never to have snowed at all. This is a good opportunity for me to disappear for another week. Dwelling on this non-winter is starting to get to me again.

This is a good opportunity for me to disappear for another week. Dwelling on this non-winter is starting to get to me again. That's my thinking for this winter. It is what it is. A little break will be good. I've kind of enjoyed not looking at any weather models for the past couple of days. Hopefully there's a period or two of winter left for everyone in the forum. Stebo
For us, while temps should warm pretty well regardless, how warm they get will depend on the development of stratocumulus. DTX is pretty optimistic with their mostly sunny forecast and a high of 54*F, but I'm leaning towards climo and expecting a hazy day with broken stratocumulus tomorrow and highs in the mid-upper 40s. In fact, seasonal trends would support that too. There have been numerous days this winter where DTX forecast sunny skies and we instread had a notable period of BKN-OVC skies (Thanksgiving Day and Christmas Even immediately come to mind). BTW, City Airport is at 39*F now. Maxed at 56 today at DTW.
Trent
62 at the lakefront airport and 59 so far at CLE. Just shy officially at CLE for the record. This weather made me realize how much spring sucks. Warm, but too muddy and not comfortably warm enough to do anything worthwhile outdoors. Geos
55° for a high today at the house. I even saw a few gnats or fruit flies outside! Surprised the Robin's aren't around today!
hawkeye_wx
Reached 56 today with nearly full sun. I'm seeing a lot more grass now, but there are still 1-2 inches of snow covering much of my backyard. Another couple days near 50 should take care of much of the rest. The early January warmth could be enjoyed more because it was also bone dry. This time there is a lot of sand, mud, water, and remaining snow. BowMeHunter
I thought it was a superb analogy. I think seeing a pic of SSC fresh snowy landscape turn in to a late ugly fall brown landscape in less than 24 hrs is grosser than seeing my pristine white toilet after getting blasted brown by taco bell. Only 10 days in Jan with a high temp below
