Hambone
We are having a SPECTACULAR lightning display with this TStorm. Hail at the front end and multiple CC and CG strikes with rolling thunder. What a day! Cape Golf, 60F and TStorms on the same day in Mid February. OKpowdah
Congrats everyone!! That line of storms organized very nicely. A sign of very strong unidirectional shear, coupled with decent mid level lapse rates and elevated instability
HoarfrostHubb
What a day! Skiing in a thunderstorm, 60F and TStorms on the same day in Mid February. Reminds me of a frontal from Feb 1999

CoastalWx
Did any modelling have anything like this? Even any subtle hints? I didn't look at the northeast today, for surface wx. I think there was some instability, but never thought this.

OKpowdah
Did any modelling have anything like this? Even any subtle hints? Forecast soundings were pretty insistent on some elevated instability after the dryslot worked through, and of course very strong mid and upper level jets. We're pretty close to the poleward exit region of the jet, along with decent DVA downstream of the upper low, giving us enough forcing to punch through the inhibition layer. Never expected such an intense line to form though.
weatherwiz
Turtle better take cover No Thunderstorm Warnings? LOL Not really needed...unless the storms were capable of 1'' hail or 58 mph winds or greater but none of these have been close to those criteria. Only difference is no leaves this time of year so wind effects are mitigated a bit.
