  1. Yeah you nailed it, could hear the wind up above as the line came through but it didn’t mix down to the surface at all .
  2. Kinda surprised there isn’t at least a special weather statement for this line .
  3. Got a few flakes mixing back in with the freezing rain as this new batch moves in. We were at 2.75” last night before the switch here in southern AA. .
  4. Very impressive front! Temperature dropped from 51 30 minutes ago to 38 now with flurries here in south Anne arundel .
  5. Chances of getting an inch went up dramatically on the Gefs. Shows less of a concern for mixing in the cities too .
  6. Nam at 84 looks very similar to the Euro, hopefully the start of something for the 18z runs .
  7. The 18z 3k Nam ramped up the winds big time on the bay. While it’s definitely overdoing how much wind mixes down it seems likely there will be a period of gusts over 50 along the Bay .
  8. Going to be lots of erosion on the bay if we get a 5 ft surge with 6 ft waves. Luckily the peak wind/waves should be brief compared to most storms .
  9. Pretty good storm in North Beach. We had winds gusting to 35 pretty much all day yesterday and more storm surge than I was expecting .
  10. View of the backside of the storm that hit Chesapeake Beach .
  11. Pretty rare to see a hail core like this around our parts .
  12. February 16th and the peepers are already out, count at least 10 by the basement door .
  13. Pivotal is having issues with the ukie, so this is the best map I can show. No idea the thermals, but a track from Virginia Beach to cape cod would be a giant step in the right direction .
  14. Hurricane force gusts currently near point lookout! .
  15. Tail of the line is really packing a punch in southern Anne Arundel. Switched to snow almost as soon as it moved in. Been gusting to 40 with low visibility for 20 minutes now .
  16. To my untrained eyes it seems like the biggest difference between the GFS and the other models for the backend snow is that it drops the upper level low down to our latitude, which sets up a better moisture transport leading into the front .
  17. Gusting to 109kts with a pressure of 926. Last reading was 35 minutes ago, wonder if it’s going to drop even further .
  18. Pretty nasty looking clouds on the leading edge of the storms earlier. Race committee canceled sailing shortly after this photo was taken .
  19. This was Mayo rd in Edgewater around 6pm. (Don’t worry I didn’t drive through) .
  20. The radar estimate for Edgewater sounds accurate. 2 of major roads going through there, 214 and Mayo rd were closed until late last night for high water .
  21. Drove through North Beach while out running errands. Lots of debris on the roads and a small area with numerous trees down including 2 houses that I saw were damaged. Luckily the worst of the damage seems to have been to this shed .
  22. From Facebook, this is a few miles North of that report .
