    I stepped outside when things had calmed down a little bit, and once again we had some ponds in the streets. Garbage cans just floating down the street from who knows where. It was one of those storms where the rain came down hard and quickly. And more than a few people got water in their cars.

    And a lot of lightning! Aaaaand more flooding. Crazy.

    Some decent flashes of lightning here in Carteret, and then the rain started. Not sure how long this is going to last, but coming down at a pretty good rate for the moment.

    Here in Carteret, not very far from there, so I am guessing the numbers might be similar for us?

    I do understand, most of all in this absolute suckfest of a year, why people become invested in a storm like this. (yes, I am still calling it a storm!) A lot of loss, a lot of heartache, and a nice December snowfall is just a little touch of magic. Hope this works out for everyone, and rather than this being another disappointment in a year of disappointment that everyone wishing for snow ends up very pleasantly surprised.

    Extremely annoying. There are people on this site who are simply never pleased with the temperature. They must have some sleepless nights over their thermostats.
