    First, to say this photo pales in comparison to the others is an understatement! This doesn’t pick up just how bright orange it was, as you can see in the other photos. But I just wanted to share how neon the reflection on the water was. No filter added.

    Yeah, I can’t recall having one come on the television where they specifically mention Carteret!

    Got a bit darker, wind picked up and hearing some thunder here in Carteret. No rain though. At least not yet.

    Today is the perfect example of that. Mid 70s, but it feels far warmer.

    I stepped outside when things had calmed down a little bit, and once again we had some ponds in the streets. Garbage cans just floating down the street from who knows where. It was one of those storms where the rain came down hard and quickly. And more than a few people got water in their cars.

    And a lot of lightning! Aaaaand more flooding. Crazy.

    And all of this is PRE-Elsa. Terrible.

    Yeah, I am hoping we get lucky this time around and it won’t be as bad as it is forecast to be…

    Some decent flashes of lightning here in Carteret, and then the rain started. Not sure how long this is going to last, but coming down at a pretty good rate for the moment.

    Here in Carteret, not very far from there, so I am guessing the numbers might be similar for us?

    I do understand, most of all in this absolute suckfest of a year, why people become invested in a storm like this. (yes, I am still calling it a storm!) A lot of loss, a lot of heartache, and a nice December snowfall is just a little touch of magic. Hope this works out for everyone, and rather than this being another disappointment in a year of disappointment that everyone wishing for snow ends up very pleasantly surprised.

    Extremely annoying. There are people on this site who are simply never pleased with the temperature. They must have some sleepless nights over their thermostats.
