Some serious gusts here in Carteret as well. -
OBS and nowcast 9PM tonight-8A Wednesday for a general 2-5" rain, isolated 8" possible. 40-60 kt damaging wind likely Tuesday-early Wednesday. Focus for damaging wind and heaviest rain is the I95 corridor to the coasts. Power outages esp CT LI.

We are at the “get your car off the street“ phase in Carteret already. Emergency alert just came through for flooding. There are already pockets of flooding, but people are reacting sooner than usual this time. ETA: over 3 inches here- 228 replies

The National Weather Service in Mount Holly has issued a * Flood Warning for the Raritan River At Manville. * From late tonight to Friday morning. * At 4:15 PM EDT Wednesday the stage was 4.4 feet. * Flood stage is 14.0 feet. * Major flooding is forecast. * Forecast...The river is expected to rise above flood stage late tonight to a crest of 20.8 feet early tomorrow afternoon. It will then fall below flood stage early Friday morning.
