    I hope. Long range GFS & Euro don’t look good temp wise but they have been wrong most of winter. February is usually the best month for top 10 snows for the midstate. You in the east got a truly epic snow. Congrats. My son is loving it. Hopefully here in the midstate we can score a good snow. If not then temp wise this winter would be a grade A. Snow wise it will be a grade F. This ice has sucked. Looking forward to it being gone. Not looking forward to cold rains.

    If go by the rule of 6 weeks a pattern lasts that would put the eastern half into late March. Meaning it becomes a Hail Mary type winter storm for this area. Also means a cold spring which is normal these days.

    Hopefully we get the temps to be cold enough to be frozen. The weather channel has the mid state in the 40-50s for the next 2 weeks. A day in the 30’s after a frontal passage. Chilly rains.

    For now it’s not looking like it will be cold enough next week for all snow. Cold rain. Hope you east TN folks get a beautiful snow. I know my son is really excited in Johnson City.

    Question is there not a -NAO at this time? Would that not block the disturbance from going OTS or up the seaboard?

    If Euro AI says we have a chance then I will place my bets. We have cold & it looks like it’s here to stay. Waiting patiently for our chance in middle that does not include ice!

    Ours just went down. Wife said Comcast would be up at 2:30AM. Posted somewhere on their website. How the heck they know that lol? I’d hate to be out tonight in this mess. Those poor linemen.

    Yep this ice is no fun. I Definitely walk like a penguin taking dog out. Staying away for our big trees also. Cracking & popping.

    I just mentioned that in the other thread. lol! I love it.! I sure hope Cohen is right. Cold thru mid February! Winter is young with plenty of weeks to go! Gotta say please no more ice. It’s an iceberg here. Luckily power has came back & hopefully stays on.

    28 with heavy freezing rain. Hopefully it’s heavy enough to not stick. What a mess. Hope we keep power.

    ICE Storm discussion. 00z H-triple-R has increased ICE accumulations for Nashville, Franklin, and Murfreesboro in the overnight into Sunday morning. Surface warm tongue never really reaches Nashville in the latest H-triple-R. Ice accretion > 1 inch looking possible per latest graphic (yellow). Boyd

    Is it too soon to say the GFS seems to be the closes to being right?

    Here in Smyrna we are around 2” snow & some sleet. I was able to blow most off but also easily shoveled the sidewalks & driveway. I decided to do because at my house the sun is in the back of the house blocked by trees. Meaning it does not melt. Especially the front sidewalk. With the chance of freezing rain. I wanted to give it a chance to hopefully melt some on sunny days. Sleet has staying power.
