  1. The cells just west of Moorefield, WV and north of Forks of Cacapon, WV look healthy.
  2. Yup. Reminds me of August 2016.
  3. DCA and BWI appear to have both notched 95° today.
  4. Looks like a cell popping up in Charles County along some kind of surface convergence. Quick uptick in CG with it as well.
  5. I just managed to get a copy of AWIPS II to work on my laptop...just in time for some woostorms
  6. August heat is always the biggest heat. We seem to consistently seem to overperform.
  7. It's 97° at BWI, Warrenton and Manassas. Southern St. Marys County at 96°...probably could use a heat advisory.
  8. Yea I'm in New Windsor at the fire department and it's all been to our south.
  9. Legit light show just to my south.
  10. 43kts at ~1000 ft over Point of Rocks
  11. Yea me too. I wonder if that's to account for forward propagation along the outflow boundaries?
  12. Tower shooting up near Winfield and Libertytown...just saw two nice bolts of CG.
  13. Nice little outflow boundary just moved through. Then it got dead silent again.
  14. Just warned for Frederick, Loudoun and Montgomery Counties until 9:15 pm: https://inws.ncep.noaa.gov/a/a.php?i=37857685
  15. It's riding an outflow boundary probably won't last another 30 min, but yea I can see the lightning from New Windsor.
  16. you might want to email [email protected] and let them know. They've been issuing warnings in areas with few people so the information will help with their warning verification.
  17. The 97 degree reading at Westminster doesn't seems to weird now:
  18. 97 at Westminster and at least 96 at DCA.
  19. SVR now on the Baltimore City cell.
  20. We really could use a 1 - 3" all day soaking rain. We're edging pretty quickly toward D0 / D1 status.
  21. I can see that storm from New Windsor. Pretty robust CAPE today, but the lack of a organized impulse and shear will mean it's all about mesoscale features for initiation.
  22. Yup...big CU field in western Carroll County today. Classic sign of a humid airmass.
  23. Goes to show you how dead this summer has been that we're talking about a snow event from almost 3 years ago in August...lol Yes the lead up to the event was good. That was the last time a blizzard watch will ever be issued from LWX since the product was discontinued. If you were in the usual snow favored spots of our area it was a solid event, especially up towards Frederick and Washington counties.
  24. Yea that storm was a bust really east of I-95. Really was a shame that it melted off so damn fast.
