  1. 86/78 at work it actually feels nice in the shade but not in the sun.
  2. Just hit 100° at the EOC weather station. It has a fan aspirated radiation shield & is on grass.
  3. 97° at work...fire department canceling all outdoor training this afternoon.
  4. You'll see some Iowa-esque dews today now that the corn has really sprouted. Places like Westminster and the Delmarva may see over exaggerated but their obs are likely accurate because of the juxtaposition of the site and nearby agriculture.
  5. Dude you're like 5 min from me. I'm off Cherry Hill Rd.
  6. Heat Warning issued for Baltimore City and southern Baltimore County.
  7. SPC meso analysis has us at +24 to +26 at 925mb...yesterday it was only +22. That'll help boost the temps a bit. 12z balloon from IAD has a convective temp of 98° so it'll be interesting to see if we pop a cu field this afternoon that plateaus us before anyone can flirt with the century mark.
  8. 94/76 at work, HI of 106°. I like it. Hope we get a few more like this this summer but longer. The heat days of the 90s and 2012 were something to behold.
  9. Martin St airport is reporting a HI of 111°
  10. Temps really spiking now...wonder if heat warning is going to be issued for DC/Arlington/Baltimore City. Already about to hit the advisory criteria regionwide.
  11. 95/74 in Reisterstown...pool temp is 81°
  12. Already 83 in the Inner Harbor...I say they hit 100 today. Climo section from LWX AFD for posterity.
  13. Plus it's not that warm at 850mb. We typically need widespread +23 degree air and we just don't have it this summer. We're stuck in this perpetual cool pattern that we can't shake.
  14. Were you able to get it fixed/filled?
  15. IMO, clouds and small scale features like bay breezes, terrain, etc.
  16. The last MOD we had was June 2013 that busted horribly. It was eventually shifted well south into North Carolina.
  17. It's a challenging area to be sure. Case in Point: Derecho 2012. That was a vastly under-forecast event with significant consequences. In fact tomorrow is the 6th anniversary of the event. But it seems that 8/10 times SPC forecasts a ENH or MOD risk it's maybe on cell that gets beefy and the rest of the area is uber meh.
  18. Unpopular opinion: SPC is pretty meh at SWODx for the Mid Atlantic and Northeast. I find them to be too hypey for this part of the country.
  19. I'm going to hit them with some liquid fertilizer and guard with some fencing and coyote urea. That'll hopefully do the trick. It's still June so we should be good.
  20. Deer leveled my tomatoes last night. Mature plants eaten half the way down. Unreal.
  21. GFS popping a whopping 597dm ridge over much of the Mid Atlantic for the start of July...Euro builds a sizeable 594dm ridge over the Mid Atlantic and TN Valley. Large signal. Yummy!
  22. Be nice if we could lose this northeast wind at the beach.
  23. Down in OC, MD for the week. The storm down here was amazing...over 6 inches in 3 hours and nowhere for the water to go. Parts of Coastal Highway had 2 feet of water with several cars stuck. Loud, rolling thunder for several hours too.
  24. Olympic sells a Zeron Epoxy Pool compound in like 5 gallon buckets. You can buy them at Lowe's for ~75 a pop. Just make sure the old stuff is scrapped away with a chisel or wire brush.
  25. If this keeps up I'm going to have to bag the lawn every time I mow for the remainder of the summer. It's a swamp out there.
