192 hours out may be the closest the op euro has gotten us to a snowstorm
The Euro has been doing this fantasy snowstorm thing at day 8-10 since late November. The GFS has been even worse with it’s utterly severe cold bias in the long range
Yep. It never was a “threat” to begin with and it’s not going to magically turn into one either. Just like tomorrow night into Saturday, another total non event....
I guess we’re going to hype 3/12 - 3/13 into a fantasy snowstorm now. Broken record for the past 5 months now. Wash, rinse, repeat. I’m expecting Bill Murray to come out any minute to “I got you babe” playing on the radio.
I remember March, 2012 hitting the 80’s a couple of days after St. Patrick’s Day. Had to turn my A/C on....earliest in the season I can ever remember having to do that
We can stick a fork in this “threat” not that it ever really existed. The GFS wanted no part of it at any point, now every model (GFS Euro UKMET CMC NAM ICON) are all total misses
It would have to absolutely bomb off shore on the benchmark at our latitude with very strong UVVs/heavy QPF rates to dynamically cool the column to get a full fledged snowstorm out of this. The cold and blocking are not there, fast flow.....
Awful airmass, this is an eastern New England event, if anything. Nothing is indicative of this becoming a snowstorm for the metro area, nothing. No blocking, bad airmass, storm really doesn’t take off until way NE of us, too late
