Snow started here a bit ahead of schedule. It’ll be interesting to see how we do. Looks like winds are pretty light so down sloping shouldn’t be much of an issue, and they turn North in the later part of the storm which is ideal for upslope for us. That’s how we got to 48 or so inches in the biggest storm I’ve seen since moving here but mountain weather is always fickle… could go either way -

Only made it to -14F here which is pretty common on a good radiational night and quite far from our seasonal low of -29. The fact that it snowed a good chunk of the night probably had something to do with it...

Got it. Thank you PF! Interesting stuff. Looks like we finally cleared out sometime overnight after a few more inches of snow. With all the talk of cold, though, we only got to -14F which is pretty common on a good radiational night and quite far from our seasonal low of -29.

Could be worse. Get a few days of upslope in there and it’d look pretty good. I mean, we weren’t supposed to get much of anything this weekend and we got almost half a foot.

Whatever it is. In December a cloud would drop 4” of upslope. Now we have a disturbance coming through and get a dusting

Doesn’t surprise me. Your base area gets stronger upslope flow and less down sloping during the warmups we’ve had. Our pack never gets as substantial as even the Mg Washington Valley because of the effect of these torches

Pack down to 9” after the warmup. Temp down to 31/28, gonna be some icy runs today
