  1. If it happens I vote we name it The PSU blizzard. It could be the final boss.
  2. Seems to be the case and the seasonal trend. I rather be in my area then along the MD line. Crazy how I've been saying that for like 5 years lol
  3. Typical lol. At this rate we'll have a few sleet pellets and 40 degrees lol
  4. Is it me or does it seem like that area north of Richmond has been a precip Hotspot for months.
  5. If a quarter of that happens we declare psu the snow whisperer.
  6. It's actually pretty weird that the lowlands have done better than Baltimore County for years. I had a nearly 10" storm 4 weeks ago and you guys got scraps. I understand your pain.
  7. It really isn't. I'm almost to the point of not even looking at it. Who am I kidding. See you at 11.
  8. This is our winter. You damn right it is. LFG! lol
  9. Looks like flooding is the biggest threat over the next 10 days. We need it.
  10. I have a hard time taking it seriously because of the graphics. It looks like something from TWC in 1987 lol
  11. I hear this all the time. I've been in ice storms and when it pours you can almost see the trees turning white and sagging. I remember in I think 1993 we had a real ice storm. Only one I've ever seen that didn't melt at the end of the storm. I remember 18 degrees and pouring rain. The cold snap that followed kept the trees coated for about a week. It was beautiful. That cold shot was the coldest I've ever seen in this area.
  12. As I'm cruising around my area I'm noticing something interesting. The ice seems elevation dependent. The high area (180' plus the trees) still have a lot of ice. The areas under 150' have nothing left. Their must of been a cold layer about 2000' thick and sitting right above the surface. Above 2000' was the warm layer is my guess.
  13. This was the low keyest pbp ever lol. Shit was smooth lol
  14. Come on lowlands! We got this. I'd gladly take less precip if it means a clean storm. I'd take a clean 2-4 over an 8" slop that melts the same day it falls.
  15. Just heard rolling thunder. Trees are still icy but temp 34. This is much needed rain.
  16. Now that it's daylight I'm actually surprised at the amount of ice on the trees this morning. Roads are fine.
  17. Great to see much needed rain overnight and this morning. Looks like the heaviest is in Northern Virginia. That’s been the trend this winter. I'm sure there's some ice on branches but more of a beneficial rain than ice event.
  18. I agree. If you missed the January 6th event and long duration snow pack you are probably out of luck for a period of deep winter this season. I think we have a flood potential if we do get a big storm next week. It will likely be followed by warm, heavy rains unlike the January event. I feel lucky to have scored so well in that event. IMO that was the event of the season for the lowlands.
  19. This reminds me of that gfs run about a week before the 2016 monster. Wow! What a fun run. LFG
  20. It's not the fourm. It's the fact that no human or computer has any idea what will happen after day 5. The models are showing basically everything from warm and dry to cold and wet. Hopefully we'll actually have an idea over the next few days. My guts says climo Feb. NW will get snow. 95 east you know the drill.
  21. The day after the 2016 storm was a bluebird 28 degree day. The next day was 70 lol. It was the tail end of a deep winter period that lasted about a week. Other than that stretch of cold it was a pretty mild winter.
  22. Trail conditions at my local hiking spot were terrible yesterday. Greasy mud and half frozen sheets of ice made me thankful for the forecasted rain. I'm ready to start over fresh with another 10" snowstorm.
