  1. 3.9" here today. Hopefully I can get back to missing/catching the edge of storms over the next few days.
  2. Way too much, too fast. 3.9" The new parking pad needs a little work lol. This is why you don't try and do it all in one day. The 'sinkholes' are where the biggest trees were, and the stumps were more substantial. Enough of a void there with the dry soil and those areas got saturated and settled. At least this exposed the weak areas in one fell swoop rather than it taking until November.
  3. I am happy with it. Just a few spots will need to be fixed up. The contractor will take care of it in the next few days.
  4. Some spots in the new parking area have settled where tree stumps were removed, and will need some repair. Not surprising given how powdery dry the soil was. Probably would have been better to compact the crushed concrete and let things settle a a week or so before putting the stone down. Getting a tropical deluge the day after was probably a worse case scenario lol.
  5. Right at 2" when I left the house. Hopefully not much more falls.
  6. Man I hope that second area slides to my NW. Looks like some training setting up. Don't need 4" of rain. Up to 1.2" now. Booming thunder.
  7. Haven't seen this kind of rain here in a while. Tropical deluge. 0.75" in 10 mins.

  9. Absolutely pouring here now. Got some thunder too. Guess I will wait to leave for work.
  10. It is going to be pretty gross for awhile longer.
  11. Now I need to make a walkway up to the front steps. The other side of the house with the stone walkway(to the old parking area) will get a patio and some nice trees/landscaping off the deck.
  12. WPC looks kinda meh. Maybe an inch. Heavier stuff south of here.
  13. Other than the area I have been watering where I have new grass coming up, soil is very dry here. Nothing significant since last weekend. Could use a good soaking, but not a tropical deluge where much of it runs off.
  14. 15. And holy hell is it tropical out there. I didn't do much of anything except stand out there watching/supervising and I am worn out lol. Now I see there is a flash flood watch for here. The soil can definitely take the rain. It is like talcum powder. Good timing if it does end up pouring. I guess I will see how well this drains and if I end up with a sinkhole or 2 under the new parking pad lol.
  16. Got the new parking area done. Crew was very efficient. Tree removal, chipped, left the specified hardwood I wanted for firewood(cut to 5 ft. lengths), removed and hauled away stumps, graded, put down 6" of crushed concrete base, and #7 bluestone on top, plus had enough left to refresh the rest of my driveway. All in 6 hours.
  17. 0.01" for the event. Perfect, as I have the excavation contractor showing up at 7am tomorrow. Pretty dry here the last few days. Hopefully nothing pops overnight.
  18. I was just looking at radar and thinking your yard is finally getting some good rain.
  19. Brightening up after some downpours here in Easton. Looks and feels very tropical.
  20. If there is a sharp gradient make sure to zoom in to street level. It's always very close when I compare it to my gauge.

  22. Probably being triggered by a stationary front oriented NW to SE through the region. eta- the front is now a warm front on the move eastward. Looking at current analysis it lies right along the bay in our region.
  23. Current take from Mount Holly on potential for severe with Fred- One other item to watch: with our region being in a right-of-track position late Wednesday and Wednesday night, we may have to monitor for the risk of rotating cells and an isolated tornado threat. The SPC SWODY2 has added a Marginal Risk of severe weather for the region. Due to weak dynamic forcing, including the lack of any nearby synoptic frontal systems, this potential looks lower than normal with a tropical system. It also looks like instability will be quite limited. Nonetheless, this will at least be something to keep an eye on.
  24. Nothing heavy here, but have picked up 0.35" from a few decent showers rolling through.
