  1. Reminding me of the swiss Pees days. Wink may have brought pressure a little too much, but when you are up 21, dial it up. Don't make it easy for crap sake.
  2. Ravens star RB throwing p good today.
  3. Current forecast for Friday here is 70/47. Next weekend looks near perfect.
  4. No stinkbug sightings here yet. Hoping it will be like 2 years ago, where there were hardly any here. Killed probably a hundred in the house last winter/early Spring Having no attic/completely vaulted beam/purlin roof system makes it tough to keep them out of the living space. I did find a major gap in the ridge vent where the 2 roof lines meet, and had that repaired and sealed in July. The contractor found plenty of stink bug carcasses in that area, and a snake skin lol. Overwintering critters find the warmth.
  5. Even some -NAO action towards the end of the month on the EPS.

Good post. You are right, there is a tendency for a snow 'hole' in the middle part of the region during Ninas. Eastern areas also did well in the 2010 boxing day storm. I managed 5" here, but it was still frustrating knowing there was a foot plus just to my east.

Immediate DC area aside, the eastern lowlands of the MA have done decently in recent Ninas (and maybe Ninas trending neutral). Not sure how to account for it other than luck- managing to be just close enough to get in on the late developing/offshore coastals in a cold, progressive pattern that more typically would result in a complete miss at our latitude and nail eastern NE.
  8. Currently 51. Stellar weather today.
  9. A +PNA pattern showing up on the ens means towards the end of the month. Perhaps our first real taste of Fall weather.
  10. Yeah the upper ridge next week is centered more over the south central US. The EPS sends a digging upper trough southeastward that flattens it late next week and it retrogrades westward. This would be a nice early Fall teaser.

The issue out there (with skiing) are the warmer periods when the pattern goes to crap more than not ending up with normal/above normal snowfall.

So you will be tracking snow threats this winter then? Unless ofc we get a complete crapper and there aren't any.
  13. Missed the good stuff last evening as most of it slid just west, and the rest split off east, leaving my area in a hole ala Germantown lol. Ended up with 0.20". The 0.95" that fell Sunday made the 2 day deal pretty respectable and a nice soaking for the new grass.
  14. Just noticed this- Severe Weather Statement National Weather Service Mount Holly NJ 809 PM EDT Mon Sep 12 2022 MDC011-035-041-130030- /O.CON.KPHI.SV.W.0163.000000T0000Z-220913T0030Z/ Talbot MD-Queen Anne`s MD-Caroline MD- 809 PM EDT Mon Sep 12 2022 ...A SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 830 PM EDT FOR NORTHERN TALBOT...SOUTHWESTERN QUEEN ANNE`S AND CENTRAL CAROLINE COUNTIES... 15. Lots of thunder and lightning off to the SW. Radar looks impressive. Almost looks like a bit of rotation over central Talbot county. Lets see if it holds together/moves this way.
  16. Right over the reservoir and just NE. That was from the initial convection that fired up and trained. That has since moved off/dissipated.
  17. iweathernet has 3.25" over Loch Raven.
  18. Orioles aren't quite there yet. Getting close though. Ravens starters had their preseason today. The offense needs a few key players back to get right- namely a certain RB and a LT.
  19. Upper low to the west, and the High has moved off the coast and positioned to the SE. The resulting sw flow is jacking up the dews and PWATs. A bit of a disturbance in the flow around that closed low has helped to trigger this evening rain here.
  20. Was sitting at 0.28" for the day at around 6pm. Up to 0.90" at 730pm. Not super heavy but steady rain. And sultry!
  21. Feels juiced up out there now. Very tropical out ahead of that upper low to our west. Dewpoints and PWAT on the rise this evening. Getting the best downpour of the day here. Radar lighting up to the SW.
  22. Lol this Cin-Pit game. Kinda comical, the kicking game for both teams pretty bad. Burrow has thrown 4 picks. 2 min left in OT. Hoping for a tie.
