  1. Past hour
  2. Haven’t been in the woods yet, I’ll know Saturday, I need to mark some maples too, I’m on a 150 acre parcel that I just started hunting last year so I have more scouting to do.
  3. Tough to do that here until we hit Dewtober
  4. 0.32" in Sparta. Lots of rumbles of thunder. It looked more impressive on radar than in person. But I'll take it.
  5. Yesterday
  6. Radar confirmed tornado 20 miles away and I decided not to chase today. 0 CAPE btw. That's why I didn't chase.
  7. .71 in Branchburg. Held just long enough for the western part of the county. Some decent lightning and thunder too
  8. The beeches haven't died up there yet? Won't be long.
  9. Really has been a beautiful stretch. Looks to continue too. I don't think anyone would complain about a little warm up for the second half of the month. Best August and September ever? Looking like it...
  10. The squirrels have been going berserk.
  11. Check this out from the Happy Hour GEFS: I don’t think that any of these are from Invest 91L, but I’m not saying it’s drunk either. I think these are from a legit system ahead of 91L. Are they from the system between 45W and 50W?
  12. I am still finding a few oak saplings in lawn from that nightmare drop last year.
  13. I have two trees this year with fat boys. But not a high yield and manageable. Others that dropped fat boobs last year don’t have any this year. I’ve never been able to understand how they work. There’s one tree with those medium sized green ones that the squirrels have been up in daily .. chewing, shells everywhere,.. leaves and branches down daily that is triggering Last year was a hard hat year no matter the species.
  14. Looks like we'll pick up a hundredth or two here in Somerset. Not helpful.
  15. I’ll know Saturday when I walk in, Lot of oaks and beech where I’m hunting, Last year was an enormous crop, Had to be careful walking in as there’s a few ridges to go up and down on, They were like walking on marbles.
  16. NFL is BACK! Looking forward to watching the Eagles crush the Cowboys. Love NFL football, and the season seems to go so fast- sort of in phase with Fall and winter, which seem to fly by and suddenly we are back to Spring and never-ending Summer again, although this year has been a refreshing change from the usual relentless heat and humidity. Time to cherish the shorter days and the long shadows going forward, and the anticipation of what winter may have in store. I know...but it's a time for optimism.
  17. We have had a bunch. And they started early. The ones dropping now are fatties.
  18. Thankfully acorns are very minimal this year Some of the ones that dropped thousands last year have none this year . A few dripping on some but now yield
  19. Yes, They know when the leaves start falling and nights are getting cooler, Season is changing, They are going to fatten up here the next 6 weeks, Acorns are one of there delicacy’s
