I've been taking a liking to the Fox Weather channel the last year or two as they've been more geeky than the competition, and actually more WEATHER focused. However, so many of these on air weather personalities do not have the chops for any sort of long-form extended programming. Once they talk for more than 3 minutes, it's clear how lightweight many of them are. Last night heard a guy refer to Fire Island as Long Beach Island, then said out loud 'I'm pretending I know this area but I'm actually new here' or something to that effect. I respect the guy for at least having a conscience, but c'mon. Then the other lady said something like "Well, there is a Long Beach, just further west, so you were close!" Then I heard another one call Fenway Park "Fenway Stadium" and said football will be tough this weekend because it will be difficult to throw "long range" passes.

I've got a few sprinkles here in the lowlands. I can see totally clear sky to my west. Looks like a different world about 20 miles away.

I was there on the bluffs .hugely exposed to NE winds directly off the ocean. Has to be 200 ft above the ocean.

Yikes. It's always worst in North Wildwood. My extended family has had property in Wildwood/Crest since the 80s and this erosion looks to be some of the worst in a long while.

It's ridiculous, the amount of texts asking if the gym is closed or if they should cancel their plans today..

Blue skies here. The only rain is of ash leaves, as that species is near full color and 1/4 dropped. Hope we get some decent rain, though I'm not optimistic. Lots of healthy branches down in my yard. Big tree limbs down on the corner snapped off the trees look to have just missed the power lines

You think that looks bad, well look at this from 15 th Street , North Wildwood looking up the beach towards 26 th street. Appears large chunks of the beach has washed away, you can see the steep drop off. several feet of sand missing, maybe more. The damage is extensive. Was just there last week surfing and it was a great day. The storm will continue to cycle for the next 36 hours.
