48 out to Davis will be passable. You won't hit any snow at all until you make the final climb up the plateau around Bismark. You'll only be driving through maybe 15 - 20 miles of snow to Blackwater. The trucks do an OK job plowing. The worst part will be the roads inside the park. -

That’s a pretty big hit for midcoast and downeast. Let’s grab 1-2” down here. Want to keep seeing that vort come in really strong. That always helps to compensate a little bit for a dry system coming in from a downslope direction. It increases the lift and tries to tug some moisture from the Atlantic. -

Duration will be limiting factor, due to cyclogenesis happening a bit too late. 3k would be like 2-3 hrs of snow, but still could be like 3"+ here -
Sure…if he likes rain

On this Day in 2013, models started honing in on a winter storm across Midwest that would make Its way to northeast and amplify off the coast. New Year’s Day NHL classic was in Michigan and it was snowing heavily. I remember thinking wow that’s coming to us. By January 2nd we were under winter storm warning for 6-10+” of snow, near blizzard conditions. All out blizzard for eastern New England and Long Island though. Was great tracking that one. A kickstart to an amazing winter in 2014, the best I’ve ever seen second to 2011 (which I wasn’t into weather back then but it was still cool to see all that snow too).

We know how this ends. It will inch north and then one run will take it 100 miles south again

That piece of energy has been there across the modeling...but it's always just passed by to the south so I barely noticed it. That there was the first time any model brought it further north.

00z Nammy coming in hot. -
Losing snow events to wild modeling misses, and coaching searches are what we do best on Rocky Top. With how Heupel closed this season, and how tough the schedule gets the next two season, the coaching search will be coming before too long.

Sounds better the other way..right? 1-4”just sounds better than a C-2”, so that’s probably why he says it like that. We know those of us in the west will get the C-1 at best, and you guys get 2”, and maybe Cape Cod can grab 3-4”. As long as you know where you stand, you can understand the KFS accumulation scale. -
Yeah that’s a big jump

What's funny is there very little whining, and of anyone its (ironically) the APATT crew that ends up crashing out and crying
