Another good day for my general area, but man my house is rain repellant. Flash floods to my west, heavy rain to my north and east, and heavy rain to my southwest headed my way, but drying up 2 miles down the road.

That's essentially my own thoughts all the time now on particularly NWS mets. Who are really suppose to be "the most reliable" out of all, being the government. It wasn't an issue at all 20 years ago as I've seen in AFDs, but now you literally only have a very certain few who are (seriously) doing their job down here in TX. I always just go straight to model/ensemble data now, rather than even think about looking first at what any met (including media ones) would say is going to happen. Especially a week or more out. You will seriously learn a lot more nowadays doing the meteorology or forecasting homework yourself, for where you live.

Flood warning for central Douglas county for up to 3" have already fallen. Congrats Smokey! Moving north to my backyard, we have a flood advisory. Picked up a very fast 0.60" and still coming. My July total just crossed 3", with >95% of that over the past 10 days.
