I think he was referring to OXC. But still that’s an AWOS too. I don’t think we had anything over 78° at an ASOS?
-
Low of 69 here this morning, 5 degrees cooler than yesterday, I don't think that will matter much for the high later though.
-
it is already a couple degrees warmer this morning then it was yesterday morning at this time off to the races..

PWS dews are typically higher for local reasons like vegetation and not necessarily representing a well nosed atmosphere. But I’m pretty sure that’s the highest I’ve ever had. Maybe tied.

We now have model consensus on a -IOD developing during the summer and fall
-
Only managed to get to 65 overnight. Glad we’re only having a one -day venture into the 90s.

July 2025 Discussion-OBS - seasonable summer variability
wdrag posted a topic in New York City Metro
Summer variability as outlooked 6/24... nothing outrageous outlooked as the ridge locks in near the Rockies with troughing in the east. Implies brief hot incursions with frontal passages seemingly progressive. Heaviest rain axis continues outlooked Appalachians to the Mississippi -Ohio Valley. Modeling doesn't pick up excesses very well beyond 10 days. Guidance suggests a warmer than normal month in our area. -
Shooting for 97f here Sent from my SM-S921U using Tapatalk

Same but I doubt we would ever see that in my area. Just to say okay we did it and can cool off right after
-
I don’t think Cowser did either. It was a beaut though.

This heatwave is , or seems different than previous ones with these high dewpoints. I went down to my garden yesterday morning to rototill around 7:30 am to beat the heat. I rototilled about an hour I was soaked with sweat to the gills till I got done. So much for beating the heat.

I think that’s the first time I’ve ever seen 100° at LCI on MOS. Anyway, currently 69.8°. I see Tol is still 77°.

Firsthand Weather nSspordetofc8f46mi2h07a60t5u4a8mff5112gfhh3lgaagml403l8h3ig9 · The green-shaded areas currently have higher dew points right now than Miami, Florida. All-time dew point records are being broken in the Northeast. With dew points so high, the heat index or wet bulb globe temperature are more appropriate metrics for capturing the significance of this event. It gets in the 80s and 90s all the time, especially in the South, but with the high humidity pushing above the 90-95th+ percentile, this is what makes this event significant compared to climatology (aka, in most of our lifetimes). I know, I know….I’ve seen all of the comments on our posts about, “well, it’s summer” or “you’re just using the heat index to make things seem worse.” While I understand and sympathize with those that have trust issues with the media, these are real metrics, developed by research meteorologists, that are legit. You’ve just got to know when it’s most appropriate to use them, and this is definitely one of those cases. Graphic created by Meteorologist Ben Noll. -Matthew
