  1. Past hour
  2. We still have Pit2, so I'll still have a winter. At least for one more year.
  3. Weeklies are great for December. They kill the SE ridge.
  4. Well--we just bought a new Pit1. It's in Mattapoisett. I'll never have snow again.
  5. There was ocean effect also before the overrunning started in southern queens
  6. Yup. Even here. I registered a 17 mph gust today, which I higher than anything in the past wind events. That 38 I recorded back in October was likely (per a NWS post on PWS's) a bird that perched on the station.
  7. To be fair, there are palm trees down there on the CT coast......
  8. Some pretty wild wind gusts every time a rain shower comes through. Saw a tree down on the highway on my way back home.
  9. In Astoria, around 2pm,both westbound lanes were blocked and yellow-taped off because of large branch that fell just before GCP entrance on Ditmars Boulevard. This was "forcing" traffic to drive westbound in eastbound lanes. A bit scary. KLGA gust to 42 kts- 48 mph.
  10. We’re back! Found winter in Franconia Notch. 31 and plowable snow. A little less on the grounds at the hotel but definitely a wintry feel. Has been snowing continuously for the last hour and expecting a couple inches overnight. The valet took a keen interest in the car - might need to check the mileage when we leave Interestingly, we saw a significant amount of roadkill on the way up including deer, raccoon, turkey and even a bear (?!) in Thornton.
  11. I remember the radar that afternoon at JFK like it happened yesterday. It took two hours just for the snow to get from JFK to LGA. But once it got going it was pounding.
  12. Had a high gust today of 41 MPH which is the third highest gust of the year. 42 MPH being the highest in both February and March.
  13. Today
  14. Six of the last 7 days here with at least some flakes in the air
  15. You know what I mean. I’m not being negative, but 0z could have the ridge back again. Let’s just get multiple runs to show this. I still don’t expect anything until late or after the first week of December. We will have shots of cold after T day.
  16. Maybe so. That does not explain downed trees in the interior I sure hope you’re safe. OKX issued an advisory. I look at it the 10 meter ASOs gust as roughly crown height. Broken branch dead or not. causes problem. Crosswind gusts are unsafe for many aircraft. Delays etc. Folks get unhappy with delays and then act irrationally. In Some cases. Impatience caused actions when plans are unexpectedly altered.
  17. March 2019 was the last time that March was more like winter than spring month for us.
